Finally! A new post! I've been wanting to this one for a while and it's taken some time. But here it is: A Guide to Selvedge Denim Jeans for Beginners:

Yes they look pretty good, just not a lot of "sheen" I have been happy with them as an alternative and the poly fabric is pretty soft and not scratchy.

Thank you! Hoping they're a decent alternate for the Casino Royale balcony trousers as well!

Really like all the ia posts. Would like to see more mixing of the core items in a how to wear series. Also a how to wear the navy blazer perhaps? Thanks for all the work you do on the site. As an aside on my iPad or phone I can never view the classifieds, is that a known issue?

Thanks! I'm actually working on some more 4 Ways to Wear It posts (as well as some other things). The navy blazer idea is a great one!

I had to shut down the Classifieds due to some technical issues with the log-in permissions and the plug-ins I was using. Wordpress wasn't letting me define the limitations of accounts that only wanted to post items for sale, so they were getting access to the backend of the site. Which ain't good. Unfortunately, the changes I need to make are beyond my skill levels so I've been looking for a developer to get the Classifieds back online. The reworking of the site is taking longer than expected, but I know from experience that's pretty much the way it goes with projects like this: take the estimated time, double it, then add another 20% :)) . It's always the last 10% of the project that takes 80% of the time. But we're getting there!

Been a long time lover of the Loake Kemptons practically lived in them for last 15 yrs. however by chance I came across the Dark Brown Pimlico. Thought I would post a few shots for that QOS look. Funny thing is Pimlico looks like DC’s Haiti CR3’s on the bike but the Kemptons more like the Talamone scene CR3’s. Either way both half the price of the CR3’s.

Also for the QOS Haiti look I usually wear Levi’s 501 in white but came across their Made and Crafted range great quality and a colour looks a little more silver birch I would say so added a comparison shot.

    Cheers :007)

I placed on order with Wested for one of these jackets a couple of years ago. The quality of the garment is very good, for me it feels a little heavy and is best worn on a cooler day. It’s also missing some screen accurate detail (no hook on the collar).

Happened to pass through M&S and saw these they are slim fit but just get my manly calves down them. Look great replacement for the QOS Haiti Sta Prest at an affordable price. Off white silver birch ish.

Obligatory wearing shot, have to say I am a Levi’s 501 man through and through and tend to give other brands the cold shoulder. But these seem spot on (though not Sta Prest) but they are really comfy you can hardly feel them on. They are slim fit and I have rather large calves that generally prevent me from getting into anything other than straight leg, but I just get away with these.

For colour they sit nicely between cream and beige, no idea what silver birch actually loooks like but I assume slightly off white stone to bordering light grey, these are the former light stone.

I have a spot of international commuting over the next six months to warmer climes so I will be taking these with me for that QOS look :D

Thanks for the tip, just ordered a pair.

Have been slightly depressed over somehow misplacing my Levi's 511 in "Moonbeam", which also seemed like a perfect alternative for the Sta-prest.

Hope these will make me feel better.

Just collected a pair of the M&S jeans; great colour and certainly give the correct look.

    Thanks for the tip!

An excellent frugal option to the Talamone Shawl Cardigan is now on sale at Jcrew: https://www.jcrew.com/us/p/mens_category/sweaters/cotton/varsity-shawlcollar-cardigan-in-textured-cotton/H5933?sale=true&color_name=black&isFromSale=true
Most sizes are sold out though. I grabbed a medium, but for a much higher price than 39$. It's about 70$ in Europe.

Also, Gstar has a pretty good alternative for 95$ (50% sale): https://www.g-star.com/en_us/shop/men/knitwear/d07624-2340-6484. Perhaps not as SA, but it's wool.

I'm kicking myself for missing out on the Reiss Atlantic Shawl Cardigan this winter. Great collar width! Was available at 60£ during their sale.

Looking for a ROYALE Filmwear Talamone Shawl Collar Cardigan, size medium. Preferably in Europe, but the US would work as well. Feel free to send a PM!

Glad you agree they are a good alternative - I liked them so much I bought a second pair. Well light colours and me have a bad history always end up getting something down them at some stage :D

Found on eBay, a budget Thunderball espadrilles alternative; slip on canvas shoes by Maverick with elastic gussets and a rope border around the synthetic sole to mimic espadrille rope soles.

It would be better with white elastic gussets, but they aren't bad. They are true to length regarding UK sizes, but they do run wide. As I have wide feet they are great for me. Otherwise, I might have sized down. Unfortunately most real espadrilles run too narrow for me.

Not the most stylish, but they work.

H&M's got a good Shanghai swim shorts option at 12.99$. Looks a bit lighter than the SA, but I actually like this one more; so much that I bought two pairs.

I have been on a Bourne bender recently (the expanded soundtracks, the first two movies keep playing on Cinemax, and the Tangier and Waterloo sequences in Ultimatum are 2 of the greatest action/suspense sequences in history) and I know this is a Bond thread, but in honor of July 4, I have to say, that for a budget secret agent outfit, it doesn't get any better (and more budget :)) ) than Jason Bourne's Morocco outfit.

It is (literally) the budget version of the Ethan Hunt Norway outfit in MI Fallout and, of course, the Spectre London finale Varvatos outfit.

Bourne is basically the anti\post-Bond secret agent, and the outfit is just a plane, regular, unspectacular twill (?) jacket, navy sweater, and black trousers (very dark jeans or chinos? Still not sure...)

It is the antithesis of the high end stuff that Bond (and Hunt) love wearing, and it actually makes sense that a secret agent would wear something unassuming and unsuspecting that could help him blend in, that he could pick up from wherever his journey takes him. (Although an argument can be made as to why Bourne never wears a baseball cap or a fake beard :)) )

I think it just shows that tk max buyers have a source to buy old stock? Either from ob themselves or other stockists who are offloading stock.
