This design is not without fault, so if Indy doesn't want to copy it exactly I don't blame him! I didn't realise that it has a slight "S" shape. Connery's cuffs has a simpler shape, and the buttons weren't so close to the fold. That's the main problem I have with this cuff.

Was too busy last night I'm afraid (and it totally slipped my mind). I'll try to remember tonight!

Arrived in the post today - excellent quality as always.

Note: Edited 27th Jan; going to put mine up for sale as since ordering in December my gym regime/diet has meant I've added over an inch to my chest and shoulders. Rats, will have to order another with new measurements!
My name has changed! I’m no longer dufus......now I’m DB6

Here we go. It is a wide spread with nice long collar points:

Looks great man! Fantastic fit! I would love to know what the rest of the items are from: tie, suit, shoes?

That's a very wide spread, not a moderate spread. Is it the "cutaway" or "semi-cutaway" collar? It's wide enough to be considered a cutaway collar rather than a spread collar. This is like the collar Connery wears in Dr. No, the widest collar Bond has ever worn.

I was thinking it was a wide spread too. Interesting note about it possibly being a cutaway.

There are no fine lines between point collars and spread collars, and spread collars and cutaway collars. If it's narrow enough to pin, it's a point collar. If it's too wide to pin, it's a spread collar. If the entire tie knot is revealed, it's a cutaway collar. That makes this just about a cutaway collar.

Yes, sorry Matt, it's not moderate spread at all (today's shirt was, hence my idiocy). You'd have to ask David what he calls it, I simply bought it as part of the Conduit Suit deal on Connery's birthday. The shirt is completely MTM and I waited 2 weeks to get it :)

It's simply this shirt, but made for me.

That's extremely fast for a MTM shirt! The shirt on the website is offered with two different collars, so I don't know which one yours is.

Yup, collar is defined as "cutaway or semi-cutaway" on the AS website. Spot on Matt!

I *think* this is the semi cutaway. Original idea was for a Dr. No look with a modern twist.

And thank you for your comments James Brosnan :)
Tie is a black navy knit (square ended) and suit is a navy flannel (S110s). Shoes are Loake quarter brogues.

I should add that the twill fabric is gorgeous.

Dark royal blue shirt had its first public outing last night - certainly attracted attention particularly the splendid fabric and the fit ( no one commented on the cuffs - or sees them in case these were putting you off). Having completed all the measurements requested (with helpful videos) the fit is amazing - close fitting (much closer than I'm used to) but no pulling buttons - absolutely spot on. I'm a convert! My wife also could not believe the price (low) when I told her which is always an added bonus. So one very satisfied customer - I bought rather speculatively so actually now one of my favourite Spectre purchases - particularly in this colour, though not actually in the film. The only comment I would make is on depth of buttons as had some problems doing buttons up as much deeper than normal : do not know whether this is same on Tom Ford shirt. Great work!

I second that and the mrs breathed a sigh of relief as the TF one is 8 times the price.

Great looking shirt Indy but I don't recall Bond wearing this in the movie. :s
We've just added a new offering to our site, the Spectre Shirt with cocktail cuffs, fully tailored and includes international courier shipping for only $75 USD:

    http://www.magnoliclothiers.com/spectre-shirt-shirts-p-654.html

    extra-image-1691.jpg

It's tailor-made using a Japanese cotton in white, light blue or dark blue (as seen in one of the recent Craig interviews... looks great casual with a pair of jeans).

Normally our dress shirts run between $125 and $150, so we're hoping the special price of $75 (shipped) will help us expand our shirt offerings and gain new customers. Once you start wearing tailored shirts, it's hard to go back to off-the-rack.

    Kind regards,
    Indy

Daniel Craig wore it in his interview with Jonathan Ross. He only wears it in white in the film, with either a point collar or an eyelet point collar. You've probably noticed that it doesn't matter to people if something is worn in a Bond film, as long as Daniel Craig has worn it.

He doesn't but it was part of the Tom Ford SPECTRE range so presume it was sent to production but not used. In fact DC wore it on set with Jonathan Ross for his SPECTRE special TV program

Whoops - Matt beat me to it! :)

Bond and DC, the line is very blurry...

True! Though in this case the shirt presumably was a candidate for the film (Bond)

As was a sky blue shirt with cocktail cuffs. It's also possible that these shirts were just made as part of the collection and not to be worn in the film.

Indy Magnoli - Are the cocktail cuff / SPECTRE shirts still on sale for $75? I would like to get some, but the website still reflects $125.
  • Indy MagnoliIndy Magnoli Somewhere in the PacificPosts: 430MI6 Agent
No, that price was a special run we did in one go. Individually purchased shirts are $125 now, as listed on the site. International shipping is included in the price, however.
