Stock Footage/Sound from the James Bond Films used in TV Shows etc.?

I've been wondering about this topic of late.

I recall a TV programme quite a few years ago that stated that the SPECTRE helicopter crashes in You Only Live Twice as a result of Little Nellie's armoury were later used as stock footage in an episode of The A Team in the 1980s and the programme showed the helicopter crashing to the ground in a ball of flame. The A Team had paid to use the footage as it was obviously very expensive to blow up a helicopter for real like this on a TV series budget and so it was cheaper to use this footage.

Does anyone perchance know which episode of The A Team this stock footage from YOLT was used in?

I know that Gobinda's scream when he falls off the plane in Octopussy was taken from the Moonraker PTS for instance, though that is more of a stock sound than stock footage I suppose. :D

I wonder if any of our members here know of any other such uses of stock footage or sound from James Bond films in TV series, films or even other Bond films?

If you do, I'd really love to hear from you via this thread. :) -{

Well, stock sound I guess, but a sound affect of the Moonraker space station was used again in FYEO (Bond scraping the rope against the coral), in AVTAK (The elevator cables) and GE (Severnya being destroyed).

I think the opening credits of The Protectors used a few clips from the
helicopter v Flower truck chase in FRWL.

    Yes, that's correct:

I also noticed footage from the centrifuge scene in Moonraker was used in the Speed Racer movie.

I know exactly the footage that you're talking about. There is a chase where a helicopter crashes into a cliff and explodes but all of the occupants miraculously escape the wreckage! I have this particular episode on DVD but don't have access to my DVDs to check, but I reckon it is from 'The Battle of Bel-Air.' I remember in the 'Bring Back The A-Team' documentary on Channel 4, Stephen J. Cannell discussed buying that bit of footage from the Bond films.

The helicopter involved in the crash is, if memory serves, the same as the one that Wint and Kidd blow up in DAF so I've always assumed that the footage is actually from DAF, not YOLT. Perhaps there was an alternative scenario where the chopper didn't blow up in mid-air? In addition, 'The Battle of Bel-Air' has a nice homage to the scene from DAF "I didn't know there was a pool down there."

I remember in an episode of the A team. Where they used the dialogue from
DAF, about sherry and the original year etc.

Again, back to sound, but loads of scores have been used in UK Top Gear.

Top Gear also used the Goldeneye Overture when they went to an old Soviet military base in Ukraine. Very fitting if you ask me. :)

Once on Top Gear, as Clarkson was testing an amphibious Quad bike .
He said there's only one piece of music for this ( They played "Sailing")
He told them to stop and then said " Cue the Bond", then as the Theme
Blasted out, off he took across the lake. -{ ( I think it's on YouTube )

The footage of the helicopter exploding in FRWL was used in the 1971 Doctor Who serial 'The Daemons', for a sequence where a helicopter flies into an invisible heat barrier.
Critics and material I don't need. I haven't changed my act in 53 years.
