What is your favorite Bond eating dinner with villain scene?

Mine would be:

1. Dinner with Scaramanga

I enjoy their conversation about killing people and Bond explaining he only does it under specific orders of his government. Scaramanga tries to get him to admit that he enjoys it. Heavy stuff. Plus, Britt looks amazing in a bikini and Scaramanga's is quite the charming host. "Then I must add it to my cellar!" upon hearing Bond's wine suggestion.

2. Dinner with Dr. No

Dr. No's intriguing backstory, demonstration of his metal hands, and interest in Bond possibly joining Spectre. I kinda wish Honey wasn't dismissed. In the novel, she resisted and ended up staying.

3. Dinner with Kamal Kahn

Another "mink-lined prison" for Bond. "I believe you and miss Magda have…met?" "It was a pleasure" Then Kamal is trying to figure out who exactly Bond is. Suppose, that for arguments sake, Bond doesn't feel like talking. Then they calmly discuss various torture options. Bond doesn't lose his manners and remembers to thank Kamal for dinner. Never one to give up, Bond tries to have a night cap with Magda and then after that idea is rejected, offers one to Gobdina. Classic Moore. -{

4. Dinner with Irma Bunt and the Angels of Death

Ok, I admit this dinner eating montage is a little weird. And there's no way Ruby could write an "8" that well. However, I love the bit where Bond says he felt a slight stiffness coming on. :))

Am I forgetting any, or has Bond not been invited over for dinner since 1983? :))
My current 10 favorite:

1. GE 2. MR 3. OP 4. TMWTGG 5. TSWLM 6. TND 7. TWINE 8.DN 9. GF 10. AVTAK

I could switch #1 for #2 (depending upon which one I last viewed :)) ), but basically you nailed it for me.

    Great thread!

One thing I love about the dinner scenes is that we see some acting, and some great delivery of memorable lines.

Mine are very similar to yours:

    1. Scaramanga - Love the wine reference "Then I must add it to my cellar." Scaramanga constantly trying to provoke Bond.
    2. Dr. No - Great banter between the two and some classic lines. Good acting and delivery from SC.
    3. Kamal Kahn - While I think this scene isn't as good as some of the others, I love Roger in this. "Let me guess, thumb-screws and hot coals?"
    4. Kristatos - I adore the whole sequence at the casino, the ordering of the food, wine chat etc. A great scene.

Not sure if there are too many more? Other than the CR one, but I don't rate that.

I love all the scenes. All close to my heart. But I love the octopussy dinner scene. kamal Khan is one of my favourite bond villains. I feel like he is underrated. I love it when they talk about poisons.

Bond unknowingly has dinner with the villain in FYEO. A nice little twist.

If only Bond could be pressed for a cucumber sandwich in MR.

He also has afternoon tea with Koskov in TLD before its revealed he is the villain.

That's all I can think of. If we count Kristatos...

1.) Scaramanga: Top notch dialogue, best of the film.
2.) Kamal Khan: Jourdan chews up the scene and the torture discussion is so casual and off-hand it's great.
3.) Dr. No: Essentially, Dr. No's only real scene in the film. All great villain fanfare that sets the tone for later villain meetings
4.) Kristatos: Interesting twist, love how Bond turns down the wine recommendation from Kristatos.
5.) Irma Bunt: Fun dinner with some humorous moments, but not necessarily memorable.

Although not quite in the same spirit as the earlier scenes, I love Bond dining with Red Grant and Tatiana in FRWL. "Red wine with fish... That should have told me something" :))

Otherwise, it has to be dinner with Irma Bunt and the Angels of death.

    Great thread btw -{

They're hard to rank as they all have some very memorable moments but I think if I had to choose just one to rewatch right now, I'd choose Octopussy. I really like that dinner scene and I have a massive soft spot for the film in general.

MAN. I love that scene. I adore that scene. Jourdan's acting is superb.
Probs one of the best scenes in the movie.

A dinner scene was filmed for NSNA with Bond and Largo on board the boat (his gormless minion invites Bond to dinner doesn't he when he sneaks onto the boat) but it got cut and it was early days in the filming, so there was a lot of hammy acting from Brandeur I understand to balance out the script shortcomings.

I miss the dinner scenes. I love seeing Bond and the villain trying to one-up each other. I hope a scene like that returns

I don't really have a ranking for it, but I must say that the OHMSS dinner scene is probably my favourite. The montage is so weird, and I love the fact Bond is having dinner with all these women.

The OP dinner always makes me laugh - bond is held captive in the monsoon palace, fed a sheep's head, and told he would be tortured if he did not give answers. And yet he still has the decency to thank Kamal for the dinner afterwards. A true gentleman!

Yes, the dinner scenes are a part of classic Bond and I would like to see them return in a future Bond film. Some even think that this was a bit of a missed opportunity in the recent Spectre.

I heard that in one in of the earlier scripts, bond, Swann and Oberhauser dined together at the crater base. Halfway through the meal, Oberhauser would pull out a pack if cards and Chips of Oak bark, to play a game of cards with Bond like they use to as foster brothers.
    Interesting Idea!

I forgot about dinner with Kristatos and dinner with Red Grant. Both excellent scenes. -{ Although, at the time they were not revealed as villains so it wasn't exactly a tense situation for Bond.

It just seemed rather garish with him sliding about on his chair! :D

I was of course delighted to see Colonel Sun material used! Very exciting times for the Continuation Bond enthusiast such as myself.
