Sam Mendes leaves CATCF - Returning for Bond 25?

I read tonight that Mendes left the Charlie and the Chocolate Factory production, which is moving to Broadway next year.

So, could this mean he is returning for Bond 25, and could it also mean we'll see the next film quicker than the gap between SF and SP?

Personally, I think Mendes/Craig is a winning combination, so I'm hoping the two make Bond 25 and do a Mendes trilogy, so I'm hoping that Mendes will hopefully return, and hopefully get Bond 25 out before Craig may decide to leave the role.

I'd be happy for another Mendes Bond film, but only one more. Perhaps when Craig leaves (if he does after 1 more) then a new Bond and new director...

I'd like to see Mendes do another Spectre, but not another Skyfall.

Ugh, no, get someone else already. Neither Skyfall nor Spectre is brilliant filmmaking (though I enjoyed the latter more than the former). This time, pick someone who is a fan of the Connery era and also knows some good writers to script the movie.

I wouldn't read too much into Mendes leaving this particular project. I think he's done with Bond...at least for the foreseeable future.

Yes please! Campbell's two films were absolutely outstanding. He really understands the James Bond character and what makes a good movie.
