The express paper reports:
Daniel Craig WILL make TWO more Bond films with Christoph Waltz returning as Blofeld
CHRISTOPH WALTZ has signed up for two more films as James Bond villain Blofeld but ONLY if Daniel Craig returns as 007....
If this article is online you should link to it rather than post the whole thing here.
And nothing in this article actually gives proof that Daniel Craig will be returning.
I am right. The article gives no proof that Daniel Craig will return. They write a headline and give nothing to back it up. They even have a quote from Michael Wilson saying there's no contract. What am I wrong about?
So sorry of course you are lol please pass my regards to DC
Did you misunderstand what I wrote? I wrote "nothing in this article actually gives proof that Daniel Craig will be returning." Show me the proof that article provide. It's just nonsense. I didn't say that he is or is not returning, nor did I suggest anything to that effect.
Spectre feels like the first of a trilogy--the set up for what will follow. If the two films that follow complete the idea, it will serve its purpose.
Spectre felt more to me like the final film of the four that came before. Tthat's what I felt the film was shoving down my throat. It was trying to complete something more that it was trying to start something new.
To me, only the relatively throwaway idea that Blofeld somehow orchestrated all of Bond's travails ties it in to the previous films. They really went nowhere with that in the film other than paying it lip service with a few lines of dialogue. But dispatching White, putting Blofeld in jail, and having Bond ride off with the potentially doomed girl all feels like an effort to set up the next film. In fact, the thin script feels like it was cobbled together from some aborted earlier concept to film two movies back to back.
I'm pretty sure that he will be back for back-to-back Bond if Eon productions throw a whole lotta money at him :007)
In that case, I can't wait for back-to-back Bond films and Daniel final outing -{
I can't imagine him agreeing to do two at once. One was difficult enough for him. The films would have to be more Connery/Moore style with much easier action. Spectre was already a much less physical film than before, and Craig still was miserable after filming it.
Please be true. Film the 2 movies back to back aswell, so there's no huge time gap between them.
Bond 25 - The Property Of A Lady - Madeline murdered. Bond seeks revenge on Blofeld. Blofeld loses hair at the end
Bond 26 - The Garden Of Death - Bond finally kills Blofeld
Perfect end to Daniel Craig's run. And he equals SC in # of bond films.
I like the titles but don't think they would work as Bond film titles. Quantum of Solace was already hampered with an awkward-sounding title and The Property of A Lady sounds more like a costume drama than a Bond film. I don't think the average filmgoer will care about the fact that it is a Fleming title. The Garden of Death is a great title but doesn't fit as neatly with Bond title formula; I think they're more likely to continue down the road of ghostly doomladen titles to emphasise Bond's potential doom. Or potentially they could hark back to something lighter.
I agree that if Craig does two more, they should be filmed back-to-back; they can't run the risk that Craig may age in the period between Spectre and the film after the next one. It also means that the public will look forward to both rather than thinking that Craig's been in the role a while and they want someone new.
I hope there's not two more. Spectre was a nice nostalgic retread, but once was enough. We got the "Ah, that's classic Bond!" moment and that's really all we needed. There wasn't enough depth to spin off two more films.
I feel like Casino Royale and Quantum of Solace were the core of the Craig years, and after that it sort of lost focus. Quantum really developed an interesting organization and plot, and Spectre kind of made a joke out of it.
CR and QoS feel very different from Skyfall and Spectre; I don't buy that Bond at the end of QoS will have turned into the one in SF. We saw him swear his loyalty to the job at the end of QoS and then in SF he just doesn't care about the job at all. I thought Quantum was an interesting modern take on SPECTRE; I can see why they grabbed the opportunity to use SPECTRE as the name of the organisation again but felt it would have been more credible if they'd kept Quantum as the bad organisation (even if it is a bit of a forced name).
The series after SF was at a turning point and it's at another one again. I don't think they'll go back to the grit of the earlier two films but there's only so long that they can mine the back catalogue. SP didn't mine as shamelessly as SF (although I guess SF has the excuse it was the anniversary film) but it still felt that it moved the series backwards by selling itself mainly on the iconicism of SPECTRE and Blofeld.
Eventually they will go back to something like Casino Royale but I think that will come with a new actor.
I'm all for Craig and Waltz returning for two films, but if they do, I actually hope they reboot the series after they leave. Continuity wise, Crag will be 50+, so.....

Especially the Express!
Definitely. Too much time is wasted between movies.
Could you elaborate, please?
I would guess that they have already started preliminary work...outline for script, etc...
Standard answer when someone can't back up what they've said and they've backed themselves into a corner...

This is last years news, or taken from secondary sources. The only solid news we have had is waltz saying he'll stay if Craig stays
And that's from the Mirror, so your mileage may vary on the "solid" part of that...
I give it until after he does Othello to find out what's up
1 - Moore, 2 - Dalton, 3 - Craig, 4 - Connery, 5 - Brosnan, 6 - Lazenby
I think.
