I just want to extend a massive Aussie thank you (usually involves beers) for the staggering response I've received to this jacket. It does represent a lot of work, but when it all comes together in the end and is so well received it really does make the hair loss worthwhile ) We do have a plan to keep producing replicas every 2-3 months until the end of the year and it's this sort of feedback that really helps me put those plans in place. Above and beyond this thread the personal emails I receive have been even more special, so thanks a bunch guys (you know who you are)
And lastly of course, David thanks a lot for your faith in the Altaussee project from the beginning and of course the wonderful review, I couldn't ask for a better response from everyone.
Just want to say a massive thanks Daniel the mr white jacket arrived today and is absolutely superb in every way. The fit is perfect and the colour is superb keep up the good work Daniel.
P.S please please please remake the haiti and tom ford Harringtons
I received my jacket today and I love it- however, as I suspected (unfortunately I ordered it before reading David Z's post regarding sizing up), it's too big so ideally I would like to swap it for a S but I would also be prepared to sell it for the price I paid so if anyone is interested in swapping/buying- please PM me.
Cheers

Before sharing my sizing experience, I would like to echo the praise that this jacket has been receiving. Excellent product. The materials are definitely an upgrade over my first run Harrington and Haiti jackets. The super beaver collar attachment has a very luxurious feel to it and would imagine many people may decide to leave it attached full time. The color is definitely in the realm of royal blue by my eyes.
I would follow Daniel's sizing advice if you are worried about snug shoulders and chest areas. I ordered mediums in my Harrington and Haiti jackets, they fit, albeit very snug in the shoulders and short in the arms. I sold them awhile back and am waiting for future runs so I can purchase them in large. Anywho, I ordered an XL in this jacket based off the size chart and it was the right choice I believe. I don't think I would have been able to squeeze my upper torso into a large comfortably, even if only wearing a t shirt. The waist area does appear baggy by comparison however. I have a shortish torso for my 5'10" height and think for a jacket of this style the length may be too long for me. Arm length in good for a winter jacket.
My arms are not very large, but I can't imagine needing to have the sleeves taken in as others have talked of doing. Which is weird, because I did have the sleeves taken in on my size large Barbour To Ki To and size large Billy Reid peacoat. If I were wearing a sweater underneath the XL Altuassee, the sleeves would be slim looking if not snug looking.
For reference, I have a 43.5" chest, 33" waist, 16.75" neck, and typically take a 35" sleeve length on dress shirts. I am currently a 190 pounds. I managed to put on 20 pounds while my wife was pregnant, I'm sure the medium jackets I let go of would be extra snug at this point.
My jacket arrived safely in the UK today - and I have to say, I love it! {[]
Spectacular work Daniel, the quality, craftsmanship and love which which have gone into it have paid off. The level of detail is amazing, as is the colour - the photos on this forum don't quite do it justice. The fit is perfect too, will be spot on with a jumper underneath, and it seems incredibly warm.
Ironically today is the warmest day of the year here, so I guess I just have to wait for an opportunity to wear it. )
