The Contenders:
* SC in DAF ----> SC's performance in DAF was relatively campy vs. his other performances. The performance also set a tone for the 70s. The film is lifted mainly because of SC's performance. When you hear "Where is he", you know you are in for an exciting ride
* GL in OHMSS ----> OHMSS is a relatively different Bond film. GL's performance was notable. He did well in the company of experienced Riggs and Savalas
* RM in FYEO ----> RM is generally known as the funny Bond. In FYEO, he gave a well-measured performance that mixed various elements brilliantly
* TD in LTK
> LTK is one of the different Bond films. TD shone as the darker Bond
* PB in TWINE ----> The movie is relatively different from other PB films. There were a few notable performances such as Marceau and Dench's. PB was able to hold his own too
* DC in CR ----> CR is again a relatively different Bond film. DC played the "raw" Bond nicely
Which one would you pick as your favorite Bond performance in a relatively different role for the actor or film.

* SC had some brilliant lines and had me smiling most of the time
* GL was candid
* RM was well measured. It was as if Bond was making calculated moves
* TD looked unstoppable
* PB looked well settled in his 3rd outing
* DC appeared cold and ruthless esp in the first half
I guess, it will have to be TD .... He shone also because that appeared like a role that was tailored made for him (or for his version of Bond) -{

Really? Is this what the ranking craze has come to?
Ranking by best use of Hairstyles is soon to follow.
If people had actually commented on the topic, it would have been nice to get various perspectives on the performances
(I still stand by my decision that the YOLT cat blew all the others away with his spirited take on the role)

I am not an expert on cats' performances so have to go by your word
Why can't people just love all Bond movies as they are? What is the point in ranking them? Can't we just enjoy them all? Don't we love all our pets equally? Do we rank our pets? .... I never understood the point of numbers or ranking .... I make my decisions intuitively as illustrated in the example below:
Other day, I had to decide on investing $10M. I had tons of options available. My strategy consultant had done a cost and benefit analysis and ranked those projects in order of merit and ROI. But I got mad at him. You want to rank projects too! Why can't we just enjoy all projects and treat them as equal.
I kept my hat on the table and put chits with project numbers on it. I picked out a chit and asked my team to invest in that project!
People say that I am the quickest to the millionaire club. And my dislike for ranking and numbers has a lot to do with it. If I had listened to the strategy consultant and his ranking, I would not be in this enviable position at all but be in an analysis-paralysis situation and probably sitting with my billions .... Oh yes billions, I also need to clarify that I started out being a billionaire
I guess people like to discuss such things more
