But in all seriousness, I also enjoy Calvin's videos and I find myself disagreeing and agreeing with a lot of his stuff. I'm also a big praiser of Skyfall and GoldenEye, much like him. However, he dislikes LTK and TB, which are top Bond movies if you ask me!
It's the same with any Bond other fan really. We would be a pretty dull bunch of people if we'd all agree on everything all the time..
But it's fun that he makes YouTube videos that are entertaining, and I enjoy hearing the opinions of other Bond fans in an entertaining way! I would say the superiour Bond video reviewer would be Haphazardstuff, a personal favorite of mine! Might not be as populair as Calvin, but he's a great analyser with some valid opinions that I find myself agreeing on a lot more!
I wouldn't mind to see more Bond fans stepping in on YouTube and trying to be unique and reviewing the Bond films in their own personal style! I'm currently doing it myself, and i'm very happy to see my reviews of the films are all getting thousands of views now, it's good fun to share your opinion, but ultimately it comes down to hard work solely dedicated to having a passion for both Bond and sharing your opinion and hearing other peoples opinions.
So is Calvin Dyson's ranking of the Bond films anymore important than other fans? Of course not!
But I do feel he deserves some appreciation, as I know from expierence that it takes quite some hard work to run a YouTube channel, be creative and ultimately get populair resulting in threads like these.

I am a fan about your work, but not Dyson. Maybe its because I am British but I spot someone hamming it up...
1. For Your Eyes Only 2. The Living Daylights 3 From Russia with Love 4. Casino Royale 5. OHMSS 6. Skyfall
Considering how much he loves TWINE, his review is rubbish. He just goes through the film saying "not bad" "how could you not like it?!" other than actually giving good reasons to actually feel the same way he does?
I know this is awful, but his teeth are distracting {:)

He does the same with DAD. Slags it off throughout the review then finishes with "not bad" as a conclusion

Yeah I love his enthusiasm and some of his general Bond-fandom comments (like "great to see Daniel Kleinmann back"), but his reviews are overall shallow.
When messing about on you tube, I might watch the odd review of his. As said he's
full of enthusiasm, but I value my own opinions more ......... as should everyone else !
( That doesn't make me sound arrogant, does it ? )
"I've been informed that there ARE a couple of QAnon supporters who are fairly regular posters in AJB."
An IMDB ranking of best Bond films would probably manage to have The Dark Knight in the top 5...
Lol!
Yes, I can never quite understand the total love for that film OR shawshank (both good, but . . . ). To me, it's what makes IMDb rankings something I take with a pinch of salt
I love watching Dyson's videos but I severely disagree with his rankings of GE, TLD, FYEO and LTK. The latter three deserve to be much much higher. GE is just overrated in my opinion, but can understand why many would love it.

I agree. Seems that there are different types of Bond fans - some who love the whiz-bang and iconic style - some who love the toned down, more day-to-day Bond.
I really don't understand how people can dislike TLD for reasons other than superficial ones (villain/Kara etc.) because it is such a solid production.

The strange thing with that is, for some reason Calvin Dyson doesn't think highly of SPECTRE. You would think that someone that thinks very highly off The Spy Who Loved Me, Moonraker, You Only Live Twice and all the outlandish 'whiz-bang' style, would love the return to that tone in the modern movies. Somehow he doesn't...
Ohwell! - That's Bond fandom for ya, we're all really different!

I'm sorry, but where I work the Blu Ray of MR is on sale for $4, and I still can't bring myself to purchase it. Dolly, Jaws & the Star Wars space battle (coupled with the horrifying slo-mo weightless simulation effect) just destroy it for me... it's THE ONLY Bond movie I will never watch again. But then... never say never.... :007)

I don't think of Moonraker as highly as Calvin Dyson does either, but I still can find enjoyment out of it. The amazing sets of Ken Adams or the outstanding minitiature work Derek Meddings alone should at least have to make you give it a chance again!
THE ONLY Bond movie I will never watch again. But then... never say never....
But you'll always watch that trollop that is TND!!
Look, I love Moore. He was great in MR! The sets, the music, the Meddings work, the locations... 90% of the movie is freakin' SOLID GOLD!
But the bad is SO bad (for me) it makes me cry. I'm a fan of science & science fiction though, sound in space alone bugs me to no end....
Surely every space movie makes the same compromise. Sound in space, visible lasers,
space craft "banking", explosions etc, they're all guilty of it.
Not Gravity. Not Kubrick's brilliant 2001...but it's a given that the 'escapist' element of the famous epic space operas/adventures is irresistible to those making them. We all embrace them for our own reasons ...and all movies compromise where they must, depending upon the artistic skill and vision of those involved.
Star Wars and Trek would not be the same without the impossible sounds in space! B-) )
