    Bond drank what can only be called huge amounts of the black stuff in the Flemings. There are some good videos online demonstrating pour methods and dare I say it--knockoff brands cheaper then Chemex that make a great, non-bitter product. Look for a reusable, easy-to-clean steel mesh.

    Has anyone ever totalled up the amount of caffeine, fags and booze he gets through in a book? Eye watering I imagine..... -{

    I've got the caffeine and booze covered since my book has EVERYTHING eaten or drunk in every Bond novel and film:

    Very nice! Do you have to pre heat the brewer as well?

    Yes, you want to run the hot water through the Chemex before brewing to get the glass the same temp as the brewed coffee, otherwise it will cool it down. The entire process should take 3-4 mins, not 10 as some have said.

    I have the Bodum version with the stainless steel filter. Jamaican Blue Mountain coffee from Waitrose, Marans eggs, Little Scarlet jam, Cooper's marmalade from Tesco, Heather Honey, and Jersey butter from Marks and Sparks, wholemeal bread made by me.
