Looks like SPECTRE will be getting the Honest Trailer treatment this week!!
I'm a big Honest Trailer fan and though I like SPECTRE, I admit it's not a perfect movie so will be interesting to see what they say.
It's all in good taste so I wouldn't take any criticisms too seriously.
Here's the Skyfall Honest Trailer if anyone is unsure what they are: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5FWfg__wKSY

Spectre did have its problems, I think even people who think it's the best Bond film can see that. But I still think it's a very enjoyable film, and despite the 2h 28 runtime, I'd say it's one of the best paced films in the series (it's certainly the best paced film Craig has done).
Here it is!!
I find it VERY enjoyable (loved it in the cinema) however I'm starting to feel like it could have been really special with a bit more effort in the writing and directing dept.
The car chase scene is now starting to baffle me (not much excitement at all)
I still think the trailer with OHMSS music is amazing and had that somehow been incorporated into the film, that alone would have kicked it up a few notches!!! I saw this trailer again the other day and the music along to the footage gave me goosebumps. Amazing how much difference the soundtracks make!!!
One point about the pauses between dialogue in the board meeting
Scene. Ordinary people speak quickly, to cram as much information
in as quickly as they can. Rich Powerful people speak much more slowly
as they are used to being listened to.
So in my opinion far from being a mistake, the long pauses are in fact very
Accurate.
Of course it wasn't exciting. Bond had an intelligence gatekeeper exchange on the phone with Moneypenny, whilst lazily sideways drifting round the empty streets of one of the busiest capital road networks in Europe, 'pursued' (and I hate to say this) by a Jag that technically should of outperformed the V8 DB10. Bonkers.
QoS PTS. Now THAT'S an exciting car chase! And the DBS growl is all the soundtrack you need to listen to with that one
I still think DC needs to be given a better car chase scene if he stays on as Bond!!
Agree with the growl though
Jesus, now I'm defending him! Who'd have thought a few years ago...??? )

I agree with you. I thought Spectre had Craig's best performance by far. He seemed the most disengaged in Skyfall.

With you 100% on that ! It does seem like they just missed making a real classic Bond film
Having a more classic, by the numbers Bond film would have been more fitting for the 50th anniversary and then Skyfall, which offered something new in terms of the genre, would have helped Bond in what was a year full of spy films.
The one thing that does annoy me about the Honest Trailer, and a lot of the American coverage I saw of the film on Youtube, is that it kept being compared to Captain America: Winter Soldier & Hydra.
I mean to start, the literary SPECTRE were in existence before Hydra but also, so was the film version.
before Craig. So probably think Spectre is a copy. I still
Love the review that mentions the New York scenes. )
I'm a fan of Craig, particularly CR and QoS, and I also think he's a professional, so I'll not accuse him of going through the motions with SPECTRE, but I can't agree that it was his best performance. I would place it in the same vein as Connery in Thunderball--"slightly disengaged." I respect your disagreement, though. I know quite a few of you really enjoyed SPECTRE. I'm hoping it will grow on me. -{
Spectre. I'm not saying anyone's interpretation on viewing is right or wrong but I
do think we transfer many of our own opinions on to what we see. I enjoyed the
film, liked Craig as 007, loved the action sequences and locations. So I'm in a happy
place.
That may be true for someone who had a negative opinion of Craig before seeing the film, but that was not the case for me. Therefore, my opinions are based only upon what I saw, and not the other way around.
All it does is sneer
However, watching it a second time, without the anticipation of a new film, I found his performance to be a lot more sinister. I think the long pauses at the meeting were to reinforce his position as the top man, with a genuine fear / respect from the others of his character .
( I know I am ), so it's a bit like listening to someone
Make fun of your, wife, girl/boy friend etc.. Not logical I
Know, but hey, I'm kind of illogical.
Yep ,but he over rates the PTS .
