Cumbria Crystal tumbler anyone?

Who has bought one of the Cumbria Crystal tumblers? If so could I get the thoughts/review on it and maybe some pictures with a nice single malt.

I love mine - got it as a birthday pressie before Christmas. I much prefer it to the more usual Darlington type crystal - it just feels more substantial (in weight certainly) and has - in my opinion - a timeless, classic design.

Adds another little something to the pleasure of a single malt in my opinion......

There was somebody selling replica Hotel Key Cards and Vesper's business card on eBay in the past. But I haven't seen these offered for a while now.

Still 15 available when I checked. Anyone willing to pick up and ship to the US? £119 sounds a little excessive to send a glass to the US.

That shipping charge is insane. :s

If it was more reasonable I would purchase some.

I'm seeing those sorts of shipping charges more and more frequently, unfortunately. It's absolutely ridiculous. I guarantee that even using bubble-wrap, Styrofoam pellets and a generous box it wouldn't cost more than $40 max.

I emailed them and got a sensible shipping rate

you're welcome - shipping is a bit pricey even in the UK -For those looking internationally probably worth contacting them directly as Welshboy suggested. I found their customer service to be excellent.

Cumbria Crystal is the manufacturer of the whisky glass used in casino Royale by Daniel Craig. The 12oz Double Old Fashioned tumbler part of our Grasmere Collection and is from one of our most popular Collections. The collection has also been featured heavily throughout the UK period drama series Downton Abbey.

Cumbria Crystal is the last remaining producer of completely hand-blown and hand-cut, luxury full-lead English crystal in the United Kingdom. Using only traditional glassmaking methods, the small team of 22 highly skilled artisans are committed to making traditional & contemporary crystal of the highest quality, using techniques that have hardly changed since the Roman era. Cumbria Crystal strives to produce the highest quality full-lead crystal and therefore its hardly surprising it is the crystal of choice for the British Embassies, many Royal Families and Luxury Stores worldwide. It is available direct from the Factory and from luxury stores worldwide

As a company shipping extremely delicate and expensive items worldwide we use the best couriers possible to ensure that the products always arrive intact. I am afraid that we have no control over the cost of international shipping, we do not put any mark-up on the shipping beyond the cost of packaging materials, as we are aware that the costs are not inconsiderable. We are charged by by the box and because we are quite a small company cannot negotiate the more competitive courier rates that we enjoy through the likes of Amazon or eBay.
Because we are charged by the box this means that shipping for one or two glasses is inevitably high, but it is worth noting that it is possible to get a lot of products into one box so it is quite conceivable that we could deliver 20+ items of crystal for the same price!
All crystal products are double boxed, and heavily insulated in protective polystyrene beads to ensure safe delivery.
It is always worth calling the factory to see if a better price can be achieved for P&P than through the website, in some cases and for some destinations this works. We would be delighted to talk to you - the number is +44 (0)1229 584400.

Thank you. As one of the last manufacturers of hand blown and cut crystal surviving we are doing our utmost to engage with new audiences and particularly to develop followers internationally. It is impossible to compete on price against the mass producers, therefore exceptional quality and customer service are all the more important. Each 'Double Old Fashioned' whisky tumbler takes 7-10 days to make from start to finish and is cut by hand, on diamond wheels. The company has two incredibly skilled cutters, but even so each glass takes around 30-40 minutes to cut! Appreciating this I hope readers will understand more fully what it is we you support of you purchase our crystal - quality, craftsmanship, luxury and keeping dying traditions and skills alive in the UK.

Thank you however the Shipping to Canada cost keeps me away from purchasing this product. I can't justify paying more for shipping then the glass itself.
