J Crew Kentons?

This is my first post so forgive me if there is another thread on the topic.

Are the J Crew Kentons the actual boot DC wears in spectre or is it a recommended similar pair to something else? If they are the J Crew's then are they the boulder color they sell on the website? Just seems difficult to tell colors on some things online vs irl.

Kentons in Sahara appear from time to time on ebay. Might want to check there. Also Aldo http://www.aldoshoes.com/ca/en sells an almost identical version or at least they used to.

    Someone on the forum is selling some Aldo's;

Yeah the Aldo Meggiano is a damned near perfect alternative.. I checked their site as they had a few sizes restocked in the last few days.. (were sold out completely) Now they have 7.5, 9.5, 10.5 & 13... And at $56 its a great deal...

Thanks for the info and the links.
The Aldo boots are now sold out.
The J Crew Kenton, now on sale in Boulder color, are not bad at all.
Honestly, it is hard to tell the difference with the Sahara color, especially if you have a lot of sand on it :)

    Hi
I'm still able to order the Aldo's off their U.S. site. Try this link: http://www.aldoshoes.com/us/en_US/men/boots/casual-boots/MEGGIANO/p/40194233-36

I also posted some other alternatives to the Kenton's here:

Thank you Canoe for your help! Well appreciated. I tried several times, but it looks like there is no. Stock.
In general, Is it better to buy the original brand in a slightly different color, or to buy an alternative in the same color?

Strange; I was able to get right up to the payment point when I tried with a pair of 9.5 and they're still showing up on Aldo's sale page.

As for your question: it depends on what you want. If you're looking for quality, go with the Kentons in the different color. If you want a more screen accurate look, then get a pair that come closer in color. Maybe the ones from Bass.

    Hope that helps!

Update: JCrew has their 2 day event going on, so if you buy the Kentons today and add another $30.00 item to break the $250 barrier, the entire purchase is $75.00 off. So you could get the Kentons and a long sleeve or short sleeve polo for $190 -$200

Thank you Canoe for sharing your views on that.
I bought the Kenton model in boulder color, as I thought it is the exact same model/design JB is wearing..except the color is slightly different.. .With the Aldo model, you just have the look...
