It's actually an aerodynamic device inspired by Aston's racing cars and also integrated onto the track-only Vulcan supercar. In front of the wheel arch is a gill-like vent, named "Curlicue", used to reduce front-end lift. It vents high-pressure air from the top of each front wheel arch through recessed apertures behind the side strakes. Additional high pressure air is extracted from the back of each wheel arch through the stirrup vents aft of the front wheels.
I like the DB10 more than the new DB11. The DB11 has a bit too much going. I thought the DB10 was going to be more of an inspiration on the new line. I just see a few small details on the DB11 from the DB10. But maybe since the DB10 was based off a Vantage then that new model will be more like a DB10.
I have to admit that I'm starting to like the car. Seems like it's one of those which looks very different depending on the colour combination, here is one I made via the official Aston Martin website and guess what - I love it.
I think the front is much better than the DB10 looking at it head on
The car looks to be riding too high the gap between the top of the tyre and rim looks too big imho
not sure about the roof cant rail treatment looks better when single tone
The back of the DB10 looked better not to keen on the way the DB11's tail seems to taper away (i know this is for aero dynamic effect i have tho say its clever the way it routes air flow) personally i rather have a duck tail style spoiler on it a'la DBS & V12 Vantage S
and I cant make my mind up on how the vent in the front wing goes ot the tr trailing edge of the arch (i know this is also for aero dynamic effect)

Still if they want to give me one I wont say no
The choice of three DB5's? Or something Connery...
...or something a bit Lazenby?
Or perhaps something rare? A 1936 model, one of only nine made?
Or maybe a racy little number...
...with Stirling Moss's autograph on it's rump!
Or my personal favourite...
DB6. A proper GT, fresh in this week and in need of a little TLC :x
