As far as I know when it comes to Marvel for instance, Disney does not interfere at all. They provided money back in the days when MCU wasn't stupid rich like it is today, but otherwise there is no interference from them when it comes down to creative control. That's why Daredevil is so brutal for instance - it's still made by Marvel and therefore Disney. Another example is Guardians of the Galaxy 2 where we had penis jokes, a brothel and some other adult stuff. Not to mention Infinity War, which supposedly will have a much darker tone than the previous movies.

So I'd actually be happy if Disney will buy the rights, the franchise will have a strong production company supporting it and maybe they will set the right tempo when it comes to movie releases. It's total BS that it's not possible to do a Bond movie every two years.
well reasoned from real world examples. Foreseeable advantages would be a quicker release schedule, committed quality actors, plots actually written before filming begins
whats to lose? the people who made the classic films have been dead or retired for decades
if we lose the director of the last two films, the writers of the last several, the soundtrack composer, even the actor who never seems to want to come back to work, these are all big opportunities for improvement

see, these are all better than the dialog in the last film! they should use these somehow
thus, another thing Disney could bring is allnew animated cartoons before the main feature, something else that's been missing from the cinema experience for decades
I'd pay just to see the cartoons

but speaking of Looney Toons, MarvelDisney can take over the Bond series because they've done a good job with their comic book properties
however, keep WarnerDC well away: I don't want a poorly structured incomprehensible horror movie that makes me want to slit my wrists in despair, even if some would like to see Nolan direct

After DC is done, I would massively welcome the possibility of them selling the franchise. Why? Because it would most likely solve these ridiculous gaps between films.

But Disney? They are not right for Bond. Bond is not a family franchise. Sure, people said Disney wasn't right for Star Wars, and to some extent I agreed, but come on, Star Wars is way more family-friendly than James Bond. Even the more light-hearted bond films like the Moore films aren't family films to the extent of Star Wars.

Watch 'Daredevil,' 'Jessica Jones' and 'Luke Cage' on Netflix. Disney properties have no issues going dark.

I see why people would think that, but I still think Star Wars will always be on a different level to Bond. Star Wars toys come to mind.

    +1

Disney is no longer a strictly family-friendly company. It's the biggest production company in the business and I even heard that they own some smaller companies doing R-rated stuff.

So forget about the past because truth to be told, none of the MCU movies are strictly for kids. They are PG-13 rated, sure, but so are Craig's Bond films. The tone is more lighthearted but that's just what Marvel is and it has nothing to do with being family friendly. If it has to be Disney handling the future of this franchise, which might solve money and timetable problems - I'm all in.

Better Disney than Universal or SONY anyway, especially the latter - Emoji Movie, Pixels, three mediocre/bad Spider-Man films before they let Marvel handle their stuff - it's not like SONY can't make a good movie, they just don't care most of the time. In order to create a great Bond movie you need someone on top who will actually either care about the franchise or be reasonable enough to let it being handled by someone who cares, like Disney did with Kevin Feige.

Agree Rogue One was dark (and superb) however...... the flip side is the Force Awakens direction which would not be good at all

In The Force Awakens, Han Solo is killed by his own son.....that's pretty dark IMO.
Here's a hypothetical for the future of Bond:
    - Craig returns for 25 and 26 to be filmed back to back.
    - Stephen Soderbergh, who was previously approached to direct a Bond film and is Daniel Craig's current director crush is hired to
    direct.
    - At the press conference, Barbara Broccoli extolled Soderbergh's artistic talent and vision along with his ability to handle a
production of this magnitude (plus Danny said he'd only come back if we hired him).
    - The Brit tabs are reporting that Soderbergh would only agree to come on board if he was quote "allowed to completely
re-write that piece of (explicative deleted) script" that Purvis & Wade submitted for Bond 25.
    - November 2019: Bond 25 opens to good views and record breaking box office
    - November 2021: Bond 26 opens and is a worthy farewell to Daniel Craig's tenure as Bond
    - June 2022: In a bit of a surprise, not EON Productions but MGM sells out its stake in Bond to Warner Bros who will also handle
    distribution of the Bond films.
    - Oct 2022: It is announced that EON and Warner Bros will enter into a limited partnership with Christopher Nolan's Syncopy
Productions for the next three Bond films to be directed by Nolan with screenplays by Nolan and his brother Jonathan.
    - The next Bond actor will be chosen by Nolan and Barbara Broccoli.
    - 2034: After a record breaking trio of Bond films directed by Nolan, EON's Bond rights have expired. Once again EON Productions
must engage in a protracted legal battle over rights to iconic Bond material (the James Bond theme, 007 gun logo, etc) that were
created outside of Fleming's works. Quoting Barbara Broccoli "Anyone with a camera and some money may be able to make what
they claim to be a James Bond film now but we will never allow what is rightfully our artistic and intellectual property be used to
mislead and cheat the public and inpune the legacy of our family, our partners and Ian Fleming".

Seems plausible - but they might not wait two years to release #26 (that's me being hopeful!).

Yes they had dark things in them. Hell, Disney's very own "The Black Cauldron" is pretty dark, as is Bambi, and Pinnochio.

But that's not my point, visually Star Wars will appeal to children no matter what, because it has droids, aliens etc.

Bond has.... humans, hot women, exotic locations... it's just not the same.

But who knows, as someone pointed out, times change, it could work, and I haven't even seen any of the marvel films, I'm not interested in the superhero craze.

I'm sure it's all about 'Logan Lucky' but let's face it, Colbert's show is live - if he's not asked it means they told Steven not to ask him about it.
