Hiddleson is not my first choice, but then neither was Dan & look how fine that turned out...
Absolutely. Any word from the female contingent on Tom's appeal? Many ladies fancy Craig, despite the beating he's taken here and elsewhere for his looks.
I'm going to show The Night Manager to my girlfriend and get her opinion...
Let us know what she thinks. I think people will find him more attractive when compared to Craig currently. I recently was with a group of women and a gay man who were talking about actors they found attractive and Craig came up. All of them now found Craig old and unattractive, though their negative opinion of SP might have affected that. I was surprised their opinion had changed (assuming they had once found him attractive). And I said nothing in this conversation to sway their opinion about Craig and kept completely silent. I was the only one who enjoyed SP, which made me a little sad.
CR was definitely Craig's peak on his sex symbol status, I seldom see him on any "sexiest" or "best looking" lists nowadays, even top 50 lists which is jarring.

Reminds me of this:
I think the negatively thrown at his face is a bit silly, guy has one of the best jawlines in Hollywood.

Mrs Zaphod ( a Bond fan herself) likes him.She thinks he is charming, attractive without being 'showy' but she always thought Craig looked like a 'thug' and more "like a Plumber than James Bond"

In SF he showed his 'plumber's crack', so that's understandable.
I am not very familiar with the common choices thrown around here for the new Bond, so I tried to see what Tom Hiddleston is like. He seems to be a good actor, but I can’t imagine him as Bond. He also looks like a half-measure – not as suave and handsome as the classic Bonds, but nowhere near as scruffy as Craig. Therefore if he is cast, it will probably mean that EON are still not sure what direction they should follow. I won’t be giving them advice either – on the one hand I love the classic Bond look, but on the other they have already departed from it, so why not take it further? A bearded Bond, a long-haired Bond, a bald Bond, I won’t mind. As long as it’s not a short Bond in high heels again!

Not sure if it's been posted yet but it is now official: Daniel Craig's tenure is over.
Isn't that old stuff rehashed from February when it was announced that Craig had signed on to do the mini-series?
A limited run series wouldn't prevent Craig from doing another Bond.....not with the time between films these days.
The Tabs love to put two and two together and come up with five. On my London trip in April (wonderful, amazing city, really enjoyed it) I had access to the "Tabs" and I was absolutely amazed at the stuff in them. We have the New York Daily News in the States which is pretty brutal but the Daily News is kid stuff compared to the British Tabs.

It does dovetail with insider info shared here recently I tend to believe this one.

If the rumours are true I'm going to miss DC as Bond.
He's my favourite after SC.
Same here...but a change in lead is always interesting & exciting.

Well, one thing I liked about Daniel Craig coming back in SP was that I could finally prove to people that Idris Elba was not actually cast as Bond.
I'm right around 100% positive you'll get to do that anyway.
I think people have finally given up on that one, but I had a few years of denying Elba was cast as Bond. I had to disappoint quite a few women with that one.
If it is all true and TH is the new guy I think Idris Elba would make a great Villian, a modern day Mr Big ( so long as he doesn't turn out to be Bonds long lost sister ) )

Totally agree! There's LALD material to be reimagined (and in some cases used for the first time).

I'm completely on board with Daniel Craig leaving as he's my least favourite Bond actor. Can't wait to have someone with charisma and polish back in the role. Quite happy for the DC era to come to an end. He had one good movie (CR) and three that are near the bottom for me. Then again, Pierce also had 1 good movie (goldeneye) and 3 terrible movies...so...
After watching The Night Manager I'm also completely on board with Tom Hiddleston taking on the role.
Kinda wish Sam Mendes wasn't going to direct the next one too. Cinematography in his bond films is great, but the action is balls and the soundtracks from Thomas Newman are flat.

Thats if he is Bond of course.....

I would not want to watch any film that they could possibly have in theaters by next year.
