So Craig being blonde broke an unofficial Bond rule about the character. Do you think the next Bond will take down another Bond stereotype?
Maybe.....
A slightly overweight Bond?
A facial hair Bond?
A 20 year old Bond?
I would actually like a Bond with facial hair. It would have to be well trimmed though, we can't have Bond runnning around with a scraggly beard like mine )
If I remember correctly, the only moments Bond has had any sort of facial hair was in the PTS of GE, DAD, and in the beginning of SF.
Sorry matt. But to say he's overweight in dad. Is absolutely stupid. He's still lean, not trained or toned but not overweight.
Sorry, but you can't argue with the numbers. This is going by numbers, and he doesn't have a lot of muscle mass. Brosnan is medically overweight. This doesn't mean he's 'fat'. His weight also varies a lot in the film, probably by at least a stone.
Matt, don't be foolish. Numbers mean s**t in the face of direct observation. "Medically overweight"?
I'd like to get UP to that level of overweight then, HAHAHAHAHAH!!!
He's clearly not 211 lbs in that part of the film. But I think he could be here:
I spotted this poster of Tom Hiddleston's new movie. I have to say, I'm warming to the idea of him playing Bond - he's a great actor and has much of the right looks - although he could do with a couple of protein shakes and a chicken dinner or two
I love how this poster even looks like an early Bond, Maginnis-type poster:
Interestingly, Luke Evans is in it - another contender for Bond in my book...

And he looked good every time :007)
Surely not in Skyfall. IMHO he looked like a tramp until he has a shave, after which he just looked like a thug. I get that the beginning served the narrative, but in no universe did it suit him.
The look in Spectre was much more on the money to me.

I saw Tom Hiddleston in Crimson Peak recently and he certainly caught my eye. Def Bond material if they want to get away from muscle bound action man. He is slight.
Attractive in an intriguing way. Great eyes, voice and height (6'2")
Even has the right education )
I quite fancied Aidan Turner for the role after seeing him in Agather Christie's 'Then There were None' but I think I'd prefer Hiddleston now.
(Though both could also pull off the hair lick too)

I think he has a good lean Bond look. Maybe a bit of upper body work and definition, but not much. Slightly longer hair, two shades darker and Bingo he's our man. I'm looking forward to High Rise as I'm a major Ballard nut. Poster looks great. Can't wait.

I don't wish to be the source of a planet wide panic here,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, but I read in a celebrity mag (not National Inquirer or the like) that Leonardo Dicaprio was approached to play Bond.
As far as I'm concerned,,,,,,,, 007 sacrificed himself in the line of duty during a mission after SPECTRE and no longer exists, if this occurs.
What an horrible turn in the franchise if that happens.
I'm being so serious in saying that for me the world of James Bond in cinema woud end and I would just concentrate on previous film releases and the written Bond world to placate my appetite.
No Worries. DiCaprio as Bond would never ever happen. I'm a huge fan of him actually! But he's no Bond. (Not much American actors are for that matter...)
John Gavin probably was the closest the franchise ever got to getting an American Bond. I can't see that happen anytime soon... (Especially not a major Hollywood star like DiCaprio!)
British actors are all over movies and TV wielding all manner of American accents these days. Hell, they even have British actors playing American Revolutionary war heroes (which actually makes some sense ). I don't believe EON will cast Bond outside of a Commonwealth actor.....plenty of good candidates anyway. But even if EON did cast an American actor as Bond I have to believe they wouldn't allow another Kevin Costner / Robin Hood disaster.
Saw a trailer for the Hank Williams bio "I Saw The Light" starring Hiddleston as Williams. Film actually looks quite good and could be a star-making performance. He could be Bond, just not my first choice.
I know where you're coming from - the looks, the charisma, and he's a great actor. But sadly I just can't see it being his kind of movie, he'd railroad it.

Really looking forward to seeing High Rise
I doubt they'd cast Hiddleston as he's in a big franchise already (Thor/Avengers). He looks like he could play a good spy (and kind of is in The Night Manager) but maybe not Bond. They'll need somebody who isn't strongly associated with a role yet; certainly not a film one. My guess is that it will be someone who is either an upcoming film actor or established in TV. I also think they will move away from Bond as an action man so as long as the actor playing him is in good shape it should be fine.
I've been watching Tom Hiddleston closely in the BBC drama the Night Manager where is playing the pseudo Government Agent, he's okay but If he does take over as Bond he needs a fair bit of polishing in my opinion including his damn near lazy walk.
I'm so far yet to be convinced by him, I keep seeing is Loki.
I just saw Aiden Turner in And Then There Were None. If they were casting an actor to play the literary Bond, he's pretty close to how Bond is described, with the cruelty and slight resemblance to Hoagy Carmichael and the comma of black hair.
) more than happy if true though, really would like them to get back to a more traditional looking bond and just an added thought it was around end of March beginning of April that DC was announced as new Bond so you never know TP -{

I'd be happy with that outcome. Prefer Hiddleston overall, but either could be really good.

If I was a young actor at the moment, I'd be trying to leak a few
" I'm in talks for 007" stories, as with no official word from EON
It's all good publicity, especially if you have a photo with Barbara
or Michael at some showbiz bash. even if you were the waiter
at the time.

That is interesting? I'm going to have to buy that one now.

a story from the Sun about Aidan Turner in " Bond Talks"
They must have " Hacked" old Aidan's phone.
