If Craig does one more Bond it would seem strange (but not Impossible) not to end the Blofeld story by killing him. If Craig does two more, Bond 25 can be unrelated to Blofeld. Then he can have his final confrontation in Bond 26.
If Bond 25 has a new lead actor I would prefer it if they left out Blofeld. Later they could use the Blofeld character again if they want to.
I'm reading the novels again. Currently I'm half way through Moonraker and there's a pub called "World Without Want", I actually think that might work as a title for a Bond movie, but maybe too near "The World Is Not Enough"
In the next movie I'd love a short independent story (not connected to the main movie) for the pre title sequence.
Maybe a four man team in the jungle blowing up a drug factory, or assasination of a drug Lord. Maybe the 00 section could track him by use of his mobile phone (like pablo escobar) and Bond double taps him in the head.
As others have said I hope for first:
Independant PTS
Bond meets M in his office and gets his mission.
Flirting with Moneypenny
Meeting with Q.
Bond flies off on mission and lands.
On way to meeting allies (Leiter) badies try to kill Bond.
Story unfolds with plot twists and fantastic stunts.
Final show down with baddie in his lair, Bond kills baddie.
Bond returns home with heroine of plot.....then lesser baddies try to kill Bond but fail.

a bit too generic. Have to change up the sequences of order.

It's different than any Bond film we've had in a long time. What's the point of doing something different if different doesn't work?

It works for me. I'd add in that there's a lovely lady in the villain's power who seduces Bond (or is seduced by Bond; depends on whether she's good or bad) early on before being killed, and that there's a superstrong henchman who 007 can't possibly defeat, and that Bond & the main villain have a skirmish early in the film which is socially acceptable and superficially amicable (eg a card game, horse racing, backgammon...) but has strong subtext and we pretty much have The Formula.
Generic? Yes, absolutely. It works for "Star Wars"- their last two films have shown that. Huge financial success because they didn't forget the first rule of journalism, er, film-making: give the people what they want. George Lucas forgot that with the prequel trilogy.
Oh, and the British have been alerted to the villain's activities because he's stealing/smuggling/stockpiling a commodity (gold? diamonds? microchips? Faberge eggs? you get the idea) and 007 finds out that while this is what the villain has been doing, it's really because....
I think that you are probably right although it's a shame. It's so old skool that it could be deemed post ironic and would actually be a brave and bold move. Eon however have been determined to distance the current crop in the Craig era from what went before. We can only hope that their particular brand of radical is now already passe and has been so for some time (since QOS in my view) New balls please.
Of that of which we cannot speak we must pass over in silence- Ludwig Wittgenstein.
Whatever they come up with, I just hope Bond isn't a "rogue agent" again and whatever he is tasked to do in the next movie he has the full support of M and the security services.
I agree. Going rogue has become a tired cliche. I think only one or two of the Mission Impossible movies feature the team fighting an outside enemy on orders from IMF.
Hopefully the next Bond movies won't be about somebodys relatives or Bond's past either. This kind of thing happens in lot of movies, not just in Craig's Bond movies. Even in Jason Bourne it ended up being about a relative. It's supposedly to make things more personal, but when used too much it just makes the world of the movie(s) smaller.

I don't think it's about making the movies more unique, it's about following trends.
Since the 70s, though, Bond movies have made a habit of following trends:
LALD- Blaxploitation.
TMWTGG- Kung Fu.
MR- Star Wars.
etc.
Indeed they have. But those trends didn't write the stories like the current trends do. Moonraker could have replaced the space shuttles with submarines and the space station with a super tanker.
I've had this crazy idea for a while and it wont go away haha. I actually am a screenwriter by profession so ideas come along at the strangest of times. Here then is my idea for Bond 25 should Danjaq/EON offer me the chance of a life time.
THE SON WITH THE GOLDEN GUN.
Ok the pre-credits scene would be a recreation of the events surrounding Bond (Daniel Craig) defeating and killing Scaramanga (Antonio Banderas). The main titles would show that Scaramanga had a child (Roberto) whom we see is being corrupted by Blofeld (Waltz) and SPECTRE. 10 Years on, Roberto (Gael Garcia Bernal) is now a terrorist on the same scale as His father and Blofeld with one burning ambition : to kill Bond. Blofeld, still pissed off from the events in SPECTRE places Frencesco's Golden Gun in Roberto's hand and orders him to kill Bond. Scaramanga jr is told that Silva (Javier Bardem) is still alive and tracks Him down and the two begin to plot Bond's downfall. There is a serious terrorist action against various M15 agents, orchestrated by the two in which Bond is set up and made to look like the perpetrator. M is left in a coma. This means that other 00 agents come after Bond - thinking He is responsible. Bond retreats to Australia and forms a wolf-pack of ex Australian secret service members as well as Moneypenny and Q to help him uncover the truth, clear his name and exact revenge. SPECTRE/Blofeld make the mistake of utilizing Scaramangas daughter Golda to kill Bond. Golda is not comfortable at all with all the killing and she begins to fall in love with Bond and becomes His ally and lover and helps his fight-back. There are a series of fantastic action scenes at the Sydney Opera House, the Melbourne bridge and the political foundations in Canberra, Australia. In the end M recovers enough in order to help as Bond kills Silva and Golda uses her fathers Golden Gun and Golden Bullets to kill her own brother and Bond clears His name and is free to return to UK and M15 and resume His duties for Her Majesty.
I love the idea of taking something iconic as THE MAN WITH THE GOLDEN GUN and filtering it through the harder edged universe in which Craig's Bond exists. Hope you guys find my ideas interesting.
Great imagination and fun story, but it's a little bit far fetched. While I'd really love the addition of Australia in a Bond movie (please EON!), I think the whole "Bond goes rogue/on the run" is a bit played out. And yeah, Silva is dead and gone. Bringing characters (played by famous actors) back from the dead always seems unimaginative and a money grab by the writers/studios. Besides, I doubt Bardem or the Bond producers would ever approve that.
Also please no enemies from Bond's past, family of enemies from Bond past, associates of enemies from Bond's past etc...an original story with original characters (would be happy for Waltz's Blofeld to return though) is what I want from the B25 writers.

Not really a story idea, but I want to see Glenn Close in a Bond movie asa villan. I saw her in the brilliant movie "The girl with all the gifts". Glenn Close comes accross as smart and steely, and she hasn't been in any high-profile movies for years,

As I said a mass debate hurts no one and is good for everyone concerned

Maybe they could have a daughter, who becomes 007's partner in a later assignment... oh, wait...
It would be nice to see Lucia again. But I'd only accept it if bond was pumping her for information about the organisation of Spectre.
