QOS made a tidy sum at the box office, not to mention pay/cable TV fees and DVD sales. IMO, it's a flawed film and a disappointment compared to CR but it has some great moments. I may be in the minority here but I love the PTS car chase (far superior to the car chase in SPECTRE) and the opera scene is great.
Those two scenes and the roof top fight scene are good. And the fight in Haiti. And the ending, which recalled some of the CR vibe (if also a let-down). But then there's the remaining sixty-five minutes. The treatment of Fields was atrocious. At least the writers (whoever they were) could've introduced Fields earlier at MI6 HQ while M is going on and on. Have Bond exchange looks, flirt a little. No more than twenty seconds. As it is, she's brought for no other reason than to be killed and her death is meaningless because she means nothing to Bond or the audience. The handling of Mathis's death was also atrocious. Throw him in a dumpster? And who thought that anybody could live after jumping out a plane traveling maybe 120 MPH from a height of several thousand feet (they fall for thirty seconds) and live when the parachute doesn't open until about ten feet off the ground? And walk away unscathed? Camille was a dull and pointless character. The plot was incomprehensible and Forster tried to jazz up the proceedings with a lot of shaky cam. There was a potentially interesting theme centering around loyalty but it was never explored.
But Bond's suits were the best of the Craig era.
Hard to argue with this. But Olga Kurylenko! Those lips, those eyes, those shoulders....

I hear you....it can appear Troll-like but I get the feeling that it all just may be how "Someone" sees things regarding Bond 25.
If anything I would call it "Troll Light".
I think in honor of "Someone" that the theme song for Bond 25 should be George Harrison's "Cheer Down".
Facts. No formal announcement of a director. Allegedly, a first draft of a script finished. No distributors agreed, neither domestic or international. No confirmation of supporting actors involved, which by this time would normally have happened, pre-production believed to have been delayed to May from March, MGM possibly up for sale. Eight months until normal start for principal photography.
Logic. One half of who owns Bond can't do anything because they are focused on selling the company, distribution can't be agreed if the ownership of the franchise is going to change, financing can't be raised for the film because of the previous two reasons, so a start date for filming, November, December or January, can't be confirmed, so actors will get other jobs if no start filming date can be confirmed.
It's not trolling, it's not being negative. It is evidence based conclusions. Faith is for the religous.

If you don't see you are being negative then you might be seriously lacking in self awareness....or as another has suggested, maybe this is all just trolling, albeit of a kinder gentler nature. That being said, it's ok to be negative. It's your opinion and prerogative as long as it remains civil IMO.
On to the "issues":
Just because there hasn't been an official announcement doesn't mean certain things have not been decided or are in motion.
There are eight months before shooting begins.... that's a good amount of time, especially in light of the strong possibility of my first point. You tend to state what you call "Logic" like they are facts or conclusions. Just because MGM may be selling, doesn't mean that every single person at MGM is tied up with the alleged sale. You want logic, here's logic: if these reports are to believed, Bond is the big carrot in the potential sale of MGM. A Bond release in Nov 2019 would be of great value, sale or no sale, so they will forge on...again IMO. I'm done. Glass half full or half empty? Time will tell.
DANNY BOYLE IT IS! Apparently, his deal is done. So, much for waiting for the script to be finished and approved!
The key word is 'apparently'. There is no contradiction. One part of the comment was quoting the Hollywood Reporter story, the ALL IN CAPS words was an exaggeration for comedy purposes and don't miss the use of the word, apparently.
Whatever happens it's going to be an interesting few months ahead. The situation with the Bond franchise has become more complicated, not less.
Again, that can be looked at two different ways. We appear to have a director on board, and possibly a completed script. IMO, the possible sale of MGM will not effect the release date of Bond 25.

I'm just disgusted with all this turmoil of having to wait 3 to 6 years for another James Bond movie to be released. Here we sit waiting for MGM to make a decision, Well, either do something or get off the pot.
I don't even care anymore if MGM has to sell or EON Productions wants to give up the franchise to another studio. Just get it done, so we can have a new James Bond movie.
Marvel, Disney and Lionsgate can prove you can release certain movies franchises every year or two years. Star Wars is doing well.
I think this James Bond franchise and EON Productions is one of the most laziest companies in the business. There is no momentum and no excitement for this James Bond era.
I wish the screenplay was thick full of plot and action not just a thin three-act play.
I wish Martin Campbell could direct again.
I like the older James Bond movies and would like to see improvements in future movies. You do not have to change the race of a popular character. MGM needs to get up off their arse and have a power-house meeting and get this new distributor. Stop wasting time.

I feel your pain......but take a deep breadth and relax. My guess is there is much more going on than we know.
Just bumped into Danny Boyle who is shooting where I live. Had a chat about Bond, timelines etc. Very informal but very positive. I made him laugh by saying 'we don't need anymore back story or anything about Bond's dog getting killed'

Did Boyle say he's the director or anything that can be seen as a confrontation on this?
Conversation went as follows:
Me. Hi. One question.
Him. Go on then.
Me. Bond. Yes or no?
Him (laughing) we are working on a script at the moment.
Me. Everyone and his mother knows that, the question is are you doing it?
Him. I can't really say but it's looking positive.
Me. What about pre production is there enough time?
Him. Oh yes,we don't start filming until December.
Me. Can I take as confirmation?
Him. Laughes and says nothing more.
Me. Us Bond nerds are really excited about you doing it, but no more origin story or Bonds dog getting killed and then Bond gets really pissed...blag blah blah...
We then chat a bit about the film he's making here and how lovely it all is. Lighting tests were last night and night shoot is tonight. He was a very personable chap. We spoke about the Theatre that they are using at the end of my Road. Mrs Zaphod is trying to get an interview for her local radio show re the filming.
We then say goodbye and go on separately
I got a very good vibe from him and he seemed genuinely pleased that the 'Bondiverse' is very positive about his involvement (and he had a bag of chips)

good work zaphod! this should hush up the panic-mongers for a while
I think a dog would be a great addition to the Universal Exports team, just let him live.
but they gotta cast a competent actor for the part, not just a pretty face. Barbara Feldon said Fang (Agent K-13) was a good dog and a great spy, but a lousy actor, and thus was written out of later episodes.
Very cool and thank you. Boyle seems like a nice enough chap. Despite all the coyness, it does appear that it's a go for Boyle as director and Hodges script with November 2019 remaining the release date. One has to wonder how big the grins on the faces of the EON folks, Craig, etc when they saw the Hodge script and the prospect of Boyle directing became reality.
Boyle film crew are back for 'pick up' shots. They will be back in July for the final stint (a Beach gig with 5000 extras)
I'll do my best to speak with him again but I doubt if I will find out much more. My objective will be to continue lobbying (less of that, more of this, no to Helicopters, yes to Tradecraft, no more snow, no back story or personal angle of any kind...)
With luck I may get a proper introduction this time rather than almost knocking the poor chap over.

BUT! Before everyone shouts, "it wasn't a feint!" do note that MGM is up for sale.
Will Spectre actually be Daniel Craig's last Bond?
And will Boyle's Bond ever be made?

How can you expect us to read that and not walk away convinced you’re just here to stir things up?
It’s especially curious considering that when I posted the same news back in February, the first reply was from you saying this...
This was quoting the story, not me saying it.
The key word is 'apparently'. There is no contradiction. One part of the comment was quoting the Hollywood Reporter story, the ALL IN CAPS words was an exaggeration for comedy purposes and don't miss the use of the word, apparently.
Well, yes, based on the evidence at the time, that was correct. Boyle had said he didn't want to direct a Bond.
Whatever happens it's going to be an interesting few months ahead. The situation with the Bond franchise has become more complicated, not less.
