    I believe it depends on whether it is vintage champagne or not. On average, non-vintage can last up to 2-3 years before it's considered past its best, whereas vintage champagne last Longer (unopened of course :D ) -{

    If memory serves this is a 2009 champagne? a lot depends how it's being stored, horizontal in say a dark cellar of a pretty consistent ambient temperature you should get up ten years tops, though I'd never leave it more than 7 years. I'm basing this on the fact it's classed as a vintage, if not CandD is right though I've had 4 years out of a bottle I'd stored correctly once. I had this conversation once with my father ( who classes being a sommalier amongst his skills) when I was given a bottle of dom perignon.

    If it's the 2002 it's best to drink sooner than later. It's passing its best.

    Remember that the difference between vintage and non vintage isn't just a matter of age.
    Vintage should mean all the grapes used are from the same year - non vintage can be a mixture of years.
    Some vintage champagnes can keep for a lot longer than non vintage if they are stored correctly.

    Vintage champagne isn't really a matter of age at all. It's all about an exceptional year of grape production which can come down to a number of factors mostly concerning weather conditions that year all coming together to produce a superlative grape.
