Rep of Ireland may have won nothing but the Hearts of the French
Rep of Ireland fans to be awarded medal for sportsmanship by Paris mayor.
    and the N.Ireland fans were equally as good. -{

Hi guys ,been away for a few days , so much to talk about ,footie Brexit ,but as we are on the Euro 2016 thread I will stick with that ,
What can I say England beaten by Iceland , says it all ,and im glad ,see my previous threads ,Im glad we are out ,not just beaten by Italy or France Or Germany ,but Iceland a country that only has 350,000 people so half of that are men half of the men are kids OAP ,hate football cant play football ect ,so we are looking at a football pool of about 200 eligible men ?? what a joke , Now hopefully the idiots who run the FA will all do the honourable thing ,and commit suicide . Im sorry but the man who runs the FA used to run the BBC , and we wonder why we lost, am I the only person who gets it .It would be like putting the head of Butlins in charge of the Police ,"yes well Bunty went to a good school and his father was colonel of the regiment" im sorry that dosent make you qualified to run the FA ,sack the lot of them ,and get some one in who actually knows what shape a football is
By the way, did I tell you, I was "Mad"?

The Wales games are the opposite of England's.

With Wales, I don't care massively if they win beforehand, but then when I watch the game I really do want them to win.

With England I hope they're going to win beforehand, then when I see them play I don't care much if they do. X-(

Not a huge football fan, but I appreciate a good match, Wales have played far above expectations, I hope they go all the way. I also like when so called underdogs triumph.
My favoured side ltaly started as underdogs, I'm thinking the mighty Germans aren't fancying tonight much ;)

Yes - a team with a strategy and a system of playing....and they stuck to it - no panicking when they went a goal down !

Portugal V Poland the commentry said the refs had been reminded by UEFA to not allow stop / start / stuttering run ups for penaltys. Guess they never got the memo :D

That Italian who came on just to take a penalty was hilarious

The stop/start/stuttering run ups for penalties is banned - but I thought it was only from next season ?

Here all experts say, that the stopping is not allowed.
However a very close match from the best 2 teams in tournament.
Some shocking bad penalties with the better luck for our boys at the end - over the match not undeserved.

Experts here criticizing Löw for adapting the strategy and the runup instead of leaving the successful team as it was to benefit from all the automatisms.

    I tend to agree.

Yes but Köpke/Löw are very consequent in that regard. Zieler was discarded as soon as he announced his move to Leicester. :))
