Free up some funds?? Offer for a pair of TF108s

I'm trying to find a pair of the TF108 sunglasses for someone. And they are willing to throw down $1,000 for them.
I realize they are rare so I guess that justifies the price. More than I would pay, I'll tell you that much.
But then again, I'm more of an Oliver Peoples kind of guy. B-)

If anyone owns a pair and wants to free up some funds, go ahead and message me.
Preferably no scratches or missing parts with the original case.

Oh, and I believe they are looking for the silver frame with the blue lenses.
Thanks guys!

Are they your Airmans on eBay? Maybe somebody here might swap?

$1,000 seems a bit low actually. A brand new pair just sold on eBay on Tuesday for $2,000, and a used pair for $1,400 in March! These are still commanding big $$$.

Quite astounding really. Don't see many Bond clothing items commanding (or shall I rephrase that to actually selling) for crazy prices nowadays like they used to etc however the TF108s are still in crazy demand. Guess more impressive is that they are featured prob in a 007 flick that gets a hammering by the average Bond viewer.

I have never worn mine, just tried them on. Makes me think twice about wearing them if a cool trade comes up, especially since I have so many damn sunglasses anyhow

Likewise. I had a pair of TF108s snap at the frame, so when I was lucky enough to pick up another pair, I kept them minty in the box. I've never worn them. Hoping they'll one day help me out in a pinch for something I'm really after. Paul, were you after a pair of the OPs? I just sold my pair to BTB earlier this week. While I love the aviator-style, they just don't suit me. I'm much more partial to my (many) Persols.

    Kind regards,
    Craig

    Hi Craig

I happened to grab a pair of OPs last week from eBay UK for a bargain (if they are mint as described). They were cheap as the case is missing however I have a spare case as my Mrs stole and trashed my original pair (she will be banned from these ones!)

I try to evenly rotate my sunglasses but usually end up wearing Persols also!!!!

    Cheers

    Paul

Got mine still in the box with leaflets and everything :D Love the smaller size lenses of the 108, but the leather ear pieces mean these are not a favourable daily wear if you want them to last and look good, so I think I've only worn them once and should make more of an effort to enjoy them.

Still, I have the TF William version of the 108 and wear those all the time B-)

Don't most Bond clothing items usually sell for more then they're worth on ebay because of the Bond connection?

I think the 108's do go so high due to the fact its the only TF item to have 007 branding?

I think apart from the odd exception things have calmed down considerably. I think the days of TF ties going for over $800 are long gone, Original Skyfall Barbours seem to appear now at more sensible prices and ive seen the Matchless at cheaper then RRP.

Always been something about those sunglasses and eBay, maybe it is the 007 branding as Mark says. They have kind of become the iconic 007 glasses somehow with even the airmans going up in price

St Dupont coffin links from CR too. Maybe its just items that are as Paul says, iconic in some eyes...

Hopefully for the lucky few the Dior does the same and bucks the clothes trend.

Interesting, perhaps its because of the massive influx of people interested in Bond's clothing around Skyfall and the clothes now being sold in higher quantities that they are no longer as exclusive as they once were?

It was either that.....or the priesthood

Gee ... I have a pair as well and I wore the hell out of them when they first came out ,,, now I am not even sure in which drawer I keep them ,,, :) but reading the article/posts makes me happy. As for the branding on the case ... never cared for it ... I like items James Bod would wear and not that are branded James Bond ,,,
