OK, no clothes...just props...I figured we can all contribute at this point...this prop means a great deal to me. First, I loved it as a child when i saw it on screen, second it does a TON of stuff that the FE doesn't do (working laser light, blue flash when trigger pulled, opening iris, flexible scope etc...), but most of all it was made by Ed...and we all know what that means! It is a masterpiece!

Here's a pic I'm particularly fond of.

On the right is the prototype of Maggie (the TB breather), the finished article is the left.

In the front is the prototype DAD breather (Lisa) and in the back is an artist proof of the FE set that was put into production using my prototypes that I made them.

OK so I have a few props - nothing to write home about really - but this thread has inspired me to have a go at actually making something! This is quite a big leap for me as I don't really have access to any machinery and I'm not that technically minded... but watch this space.

I hope that the great members of this forum will be able to assist me in making my first prop.... I've got something in mind... which Gadget Minder suggested when I contacted him recently.

Oh and as soon as I get my camera out I'll take a few snaps of what I've got so far.

I've decided to have a go at making a Goldeneye Mine complete with working LED's and sound. Just won a Joystick on Ebay.

Can anyone advise if this is the correct paint for the Goldeneye Mine?

In some places I've read it's Army Green and others I've read it's Olive Drab:

I'm guessing that I should get the acrylic? Also do I need a Primer to get a better finish?

I've always gone for the Olive Drab as the Army Green is a little too vibrant, Acrylic or Enamel, both need priming with a light sanding with a very fine grit paper between.

Will I sand it and then prime it and then sand it and then paint it. Or do you mean just prime it and sand it and then paint it?

You can really tell I am new to this can't you?

If it needs it, sand it before and after, but def after primer. It not only smoothest the surface but gives the paint a key to adhere to.

Sand to 400-600 grit, prime, optional resand at 400 grit, reprime, top coat of colour, optional lacquer.

Don't mix the type of paint. Ie, don't combine an acrylic primer with an enamel top coat. Enamels have better 'bite' on plastics, but can take longer to dry.

Actually....that IS just a few. I've amassed quite a bit more since the photos and videos were taken. When I get a chance to take pics I WILL be posting them as well. Here's a blast from the past, the project that got the ball rolling...

After seeing QoS, and what people were doing on a diecast forum, I decided to mix the two together. At the time it seemed quite popular for people to customise diecast models and do 'junkyard dioramas', weathering models to look all battered and run down.

With my love of bond and model making, combining the two only seemed a natural progression.

I put pics of the QoS DBS on a diecast forum where it got good reviews and feedback, and so posted it on mi6forums where it was spotted by one of our own, KE02 EWW. Paul suggested I post the images on (and join up to) AJB, it seemed a bit more mature and grownup from mi6, so I did and et voila, the rest is history.

Along the way I've met some amazing people, namely Pete (dodgy spike) who have opened up the possibilities and given me some quite simply unheard of opportunities.

I've done prototypes for Factory Entertainment, visited sets of Skyfall, been privy to inside info, gained contacts in the industry and got to meet some fanatically knowledgeable collectors in the Bond fraternity.

I like to class many on here as my friends, who all know who you are. It's not been all plain sailing, and my own personal demons have lead to a somewhat turbulent path, but things are relatively back to normal. I credit AJB and its members for getting me back on track.

This is what makes me believe that AJB has been, and continues to be the most welcoming and knowledgeable Bond forum. From being a member of other groups and forums in many different subjects, I see a lot of in fighting, squabbles and show offs, I don't really get involved with these groups and it's always nice to come 'home' as it were to AJB for some peace and quiet.

So over the years things have progressed, I've learnt A LOT of skills and experience and had some invaluable guidance from very generous and kind people. I find it somewhat humbling but a little bemusing when people refer to my work in a positive light, any feedback is great but great feedback is excellent to hear and very uplifting. I don't class myself as 'the best', there's no need to try wearing a crown as other 'makers' here all have their own strengths in areas I'm not so great at, paper props, real weapons...., budgie smugglers.

Long may it all continue!

And it all began with a little diecast car....









To go alongside the QoS DBS was the CR version, after a certain 'Mr Bond' took it for a spin, or a roll actually, a world record breaking 7 barrel rolls to be precise.

There was a case for this too, and the original plan was to have it signed for charity auction. It got as far as 138, but due to legal reasons it couldn't be signed, so was returned.... In a Jiffy bag. Sadly the case was no more









So there's my two favourite pieces that I've made myself, I'll dig a few more bits out to show again soon.
