Someone posted somewhere that if Hillary Clinton does get elected, Richard Nixon needs to be dug up and apologized to. I thought it a pretty good line.

I posted a long time ago that Hillary reminded me of Nixon, as she was a political operator.
Not loved ( or even liked by many) but she would get the job done. As she knew the system

It is amazing to think that America has ended up with two candidates, that leave the
Country divided basically along the lines of " which one will do the least amount of
Damage ?"

I can see a President Trump being assassinated. Not that I think he will be elected in the first place...

Yes, they said on BBC Radio 4 this morning that Hillary Clinton was the most qualified person to run for the presidency in the history of the United States. I'm no big fan of the Clintons but I still hope that she wins over Trump.

If you know of anything Hillary has done that's worse than ordering a burglary in another party's election headquarters during an election and then lying about it afterwards, please tell the Republican party. They will be eternally grateful.
Hillary has doen some very questioanlble things, especiallly the e-mail scandal, but she has a very long way to be on the Nixon level IMO.
She does however have some simularities with Nixon: both were Washington insiders for many years, both are/were very suspicious towards the media, both lack the great charisma of previous leaders (Kennedy, Obama) adn both harboured a wish to be president for a long time.
Not only do Americans limit themselves to only (in effect) two presidential candidates, this year they managed to chose two bad candidates. Or to be honest, one bad and one horrible candidate.

Nixon didn't have a Benghazi, but of course Hillary dodges all responsibility for that. Her ability to dodge responsibility is what separates her from Nixon. She's as nimble as Spiderman at getting out of the way of the truth, whereas Nixon moved slowly enough that it mowed him down like a mass-transit bus.
I know it doesn't matter; an incurious press and support base will likely get her elected, but some of us here in the States are virulently opposed to her while not supporting the GOP candidate. We are in the middle of a slow-motion train wreck.

Fascinatingly, the persistent name-calling and hyperbole pushes me toward Trump. It might just be Russian Roulette, with a choice of weapons: revolver (Trump) or semi-automatic (Claire Underwood/Hillary)

One must be steadfast in one's beliefs to resist such ability to be manipulated. 8-)
[yawn] I'm not endorsing anyone 8-) 8-) I'm just talking about a very tired Left-wing Saul Alinsky-approved playbook. No one manipulates me, as I'm likely not voting (WE ARE ALL SCREWED, AND IT'S TOO LATE NOW); but I see it cycle after cycle, and it's dreary and quite predictable, and whomever the GOP puts out there gets the same media-boosted treatment, election after election---which does makes me a bit empathic for their target of the moment---and it speaks to a collusion that utterly puts the lie to any semblance of journalistic integrity. Both candidates are big-government progressives, who differ only in a couple of specific policy matters, but otherwise both have their hands in the pockets of foreign and business interests.
It's the ones who stridently backed others, and will now obediently follow the utterly corrupt Hillary/Claire Underwood, despite their own 'steadfast beliefs' (what a joke) who are clearly being manipulated IMHO.
It's very distressing. And as always I regret posting anything in these threads, so I won't bloviate further, as we all know who's in the vast majority here I just mourn the impending loss of many treasured constitutional liberties, which I clearly need to resume doing privately
All we can pray for is a resolute opposition party in congress who will find their own balls and stand up to whichever Emperor Palpatine gets in...which might (hopefully!) happen, as neither have more charisma than a slice of cold, raw beef liver.

Yes it is, and the UK have not got much to choose from either.
According to some sources George Bush sr. will vote for Hillary Clinton and not Trump. If this is true, has something like this happened before?
Has it ever happened that an ex-president has voted for the presidential candidate of the other party?
Sadly it looks like many vote to keep the other candidate away from the White House and not out of support for the candidate they voted for.
I am proud to say I am voting FOR Governor Johnson for President.
Polls say that nearly half of Clintrump voters are voting against the other more than voting for their pick. If they vote for Johnson he'd win and everyone would be happy because we would be spared Clintrump.

I thought he did a great job. He's actually a Republican, though he's clearly personally offended by Trump's racism.

There are more than two candidates.
