The op says he has never worn them and only tried them on and cleaned them! So I would question why the important printing on the left arm is missing? I've seen well worn 108s that still have all the printing in place.

Bloody hell I sold my TF108 for almost a grand, and I was well chuffed. Now they are pushing 2K???? :s Is that just over-reaching abit, or is there a market for these at that price?
  • 007JBDCMWR007JBDCMWR Posts: 2,526MI6 Agent
    Dug out mine
Wouldnt be paying 2k without the full packaging

The rubbing off of the arm wording is absolute rubbish, coincidence its where the model number is?

    Should say "James Bond 007 TF108 18v" then sizing which i think says 57 15 130

Correct me if I'm wrong, but the SA colour code should be 19V and not 18V.

I totally agree. That printing does not go off by cleaning!
This has been removed to cover something!

The OP searched some weeks ago for a pair of these sunglasses for US$ 1000 and is now selling a compromised pair (which is very likely not even a 108 as Asp9mm correctly mentioned) for 2k.

The OP had time enough to reply - we should give bim the boot.

I have the same pair of sunglasses and it is true the inside inscriptions fade easily.
However, I would never pay 2K for a pair without inscriptions...

i too have these , 130 and tom ford on right arm , james bond 007 TF108 on left but is fading.

The wife sat on them in 2014 :# in Ibiza but I still saved them. :007) worn around the world since 2008

Here's a question good AJBers. We all went nuts on these because DC wore them in Quantum & we wanted a 007 branded screen accurate product but taking into account ASP9mm's excellent observations it is quite clear that they are pretty much nothing like what Daniel wore on screen? so why the hell would anyone pay $2k for a pair? When I paid £225 for a pair I thought for this really?.....D'ohhhhh! :s

I think there is still a two for one offer on at Specsavers if anyones really short of glasses. If budgets an issue, poundland have them at the till, they are £1.00 for the avoidance of doubt. Just out of curiosity, how much are these specs worth when the dogs chewed em and then you sit on em in the car ?
Oh and good luck with the sale, they seem good value.
    Kindest regards

People bought the 2k+ Tom Ford Solden Blouson and it isn't screen accurate.

I find Tom Ford sunglasses overpriced at regular retail.

I guess yours are fading through wear, constant contact with skin, sweat, hair products etc and taking them off and on will fade the printing, but trying them on a couple of times and cleaning? Unless he's cleaning them with thinners the wording on the glasses he's describing should be like new.
These are either some fakes or tf Williams with the bottom bridge bar removed and polished up.

    HOLY CRAP!!!!!!!!!

I haven't checked this post since I listed it (2 days ago)

    Over 40 comments?? Really?

Anyway, I was pressed for time and threw up a stock pic of the case.

The printing on the inside of the left arm is still there but faint. I will upload a pic.
All I did was use a sunglasses cleaning solution and the printing started to come
off when I was cleaning them. If you rub the printing with your finger it will start to fade.
Tom ford did not engrave the printing, it's just a stamp on a metal frame.
130 is the temple length. I thought I posted a pic of the arm that says the model number,
but looks like I'll have to re-upload it. Sheesh! Give me a little bit of credit guys.
I'm not trying to rip anyone off. These glasses sell for a lot because of how rare they are.
And yes, I was looking for a pair recently, but I just can't keep them, as I'm trying to
work out another deal. I apologize for assuming everyone knew what these are.

They are the TF108 with 57mm lenses in smoke/blue with a rhodium frame.
It's my brother's birthday today but I will try to answer everyone's questions when
I get a chance. NOTE: I know they cost a lot, but I did say "Or best offer"

AND NO, TO THE BEST OF MY KNOWLEDGE DANIEL CRAIG DID NOT WEAR THIS PAIR :))

Oh, and for those who don't know, Luxottica is the company that owns Tom Ford eyewear
  • ChriscoopChriscoop Belize Posts: 10,458MI6 Agent
Luxottica doesn't list tom ford as one of their brands, Oliver Peoples yes, persol yes, Oakley yes, and many more but not tom ford, in fact marcolin manufacture the Tom ford eyewear along with montblanc, diesel, Kenneth Cole etc, as you say you used to work for luxottica I would have thought youd know this?

    You sure...

    http://www.luxottica.com/en/eyewear-brands

If you only want to focus on major brands, then here's plenty that Luxottica don't control: Gucci, Dior, Calvin Klein, Tom Ford, Maui Jim, Jimmy Choo, Hugo Boss, Marc Jacobs, Fendi, Celine, Nike, Police, Givenchy, Swarovski, Diesel, Silhouette. I'm bored of listing them now. There's lots of others.

Like I said, marcolin have the Tom ford eyewear brand. I think if someone puts misleading info in their original post then you can't really trust what they are selling. Thats just my opinion ofcourse.

Again, the seller alluded to working at Luxottica with inside access to the TF brand, and he has something 'special'. As it turns out, Luxottica have nothing to do with Tom Ford. Something surely the seller would have known if he had worked for them. It has since been discovered the glasses were bought recently. I'm sorry, but an 'intention to deceive' is certainly present here. And that's not good.

Tom Ford sunglasses are made by Marcolin.

    http://us.marcolin.com/brand/tom-ford/

The agreement between TF and Marcolin runs through 2022.

    Well if I hadn't done..... :))

Makes me chuckle when someone tries to fool people about a bond collectable..... in an forum full of knowledgeable people who collect bond stuff.

This is one of the many facets that I'm proud of with AJB - how the people here will 'look after' each other and try and stop them being taken advantage of - that's Class {[]

Perhaps the OP could give us all some more information, please ?

He's tried sir miles but unfortunately it seems his information is full of loose threads and we've collectively pulled at those, and his info is unravelling 8-)
