    I'm often chastised and labelled with sticking up for certain people on AJB and letting them have free reign on the boards....I admit that, to a certain degree, it's probably true - BUT - these people have the best interests of other members at heart - I truly believe that !
    Both Higgins & minigeff will not stand for bullsh1t IF they believe people are being misled or downright ripped off ! Others also have the same ethic - and I can't applaud them enough !

    Everyone makes mistakes - as pointed out by some people above - and a simple 'sorry guys - didn't realise, here is the info and proof you need' would clear everything up.

    These are high priced items where people could lose a lot of money - and these people will then blame AJB for not 'looking after them'....well, these people are here to help them - they ask questions and point out inaccuracies all to help someone else out, not for their own benefit, not for thanks, not to look like a 'know-all' - just to stop someone parting with money for (potentially) bogus items.

    I can't prove if these sunglasses are the genuine item or not - only one person can do that, and he's refusing to do so - why that is, I have no idea !

    I'm happy to take PM's on this - or other issues that occur.

    If anyone is unhappy with how I (or others) moderate here (especially in the light of proposed favouritism) then I urge you to contact any of the Mod team for clarification OR contact the owner of AJB - SiCo - I promise you SiCo has no axe to grind and doesn't take sides - he wants a fun place for people to discuss Bond...end of !

    I'm going to close this thread - for now...but I would like BTB to either PM or email the images that would clear this up -{

    I was not aware that I was given free reign over the board :D

    I have not decided if the item for sale is legitimate or not, but:
    In the case of doubtful collectibles for sale - there is no 'in dubio pro reo' - it's the other way around!

    When there are doubts or questions, the sales ad is dodgy until proven otherwise by the seller.

    It shouldn't be, I've sold loads of sunglasses, I always show all the info on the inside of both arms. Close ups of any branding and pictures of any flaws and pics of cases, packaging etc. The last ones I sold were tf Carlos in havanna went for £85 and were advertised with 14 pictures.

    Here's a decent example of 108's currently for sale with appropriate photos and for £365.00 a safer option and over a grand cheaper.
    Look at this on eBay http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/122038670512

    I visited his TF108 ad/listing on ebay maybe 40 mins ago and then he had a clear picture of the left temple, although a little "smudged" it read TF108 19V 130. What's very strange is that now his ad is removed/gone. You can find it if you search for "Tom Ford TF108 19V James Bond 007 quantum of solace sunglasses SA" but you can't read the ad because it's been removed.

    That pic looks like it's taken at another place by another person with another camera.

    Higgins - I don't agree. I believe they were taken by the same person and same camera. Look at the fingernails, same length.

    I think that's why we are trialling it here. Due to the fact most Teesiders invade York en masse every weekend wearing pink cowboy hats with L plates stuck on your backs or badly printed t shirts with such slogans as "tony's todger tour York 2016" or indeed "smoggies loud and proud tour" :D

    I think we have all had a bit of fun with this post, perhaps at the seller's expense? however when you punt something as " Arguably one of the most sought after etc etc" it suggested to me at least that this was something special? where in fact if it had gone straight into "The Great ebay thread" where it clearly belongs we could all have made our own minds up as to how "sought after" or not? the item actually is? Thankfully Teppo alerted us to the listing -{

    I think this post sums things up nicely

    The sunglasses are not rare at all, plenty appear on eBay.

    However....Finding a pair in mint condition and with the original 007 branded box, case and cloth is maybe more difficult hence why it was important for the seller to confirm these two big questions as its pretty easy to find a used pair. Its now clear with the new pic that they are not mint however its still not clear if the box / case and packaging is original (007 branded) and also what condition (the TF cases are not very durable).

    If your asking top dollar for a common item then you need to provide answers.
