TF provided me with the following statement:
"The sample is size 48. Kindly find attached the measures charts for all the sizes open in production.
There will be no chance of custom once so kindly refer to the measures on the charts."

So I would go by those and not any other clothing you might have.

Also can people refrain from quoting the post since its really long, makes it difficult to keep up :s

    Sorry Simon!!! M

Simon, David, I know Remmert has advertised the project on James Bond Lifestyle. Perhaps he'd be willing to advertise on his Instagram as well. 27 thousand followers so hopefully some new interested parties there.

I'll go over the dimension sheet shortly for the other sizes, but the dimensions for the 52 seem to read as: chest 25.2", sleeves from cb 36.5", shoulders 20.3", length 26.6. Pretty baggy. More the traditional G9 fit.

I haven't gone back to look but do the prototype dimensions match Blair's jacket? I wonder if the fact that Blair's "48" is a heavily altered 52 has anything to do with it?

Simon - you're a legend to get it this far...
Looking forward to hearing more from David on the fit etc.

As soon as it arrives I will lay the measuring tape down against all measurements...

Just anther quick update a lot of people have contacted me about the sizing chart so I have taken that back to TF and they are double-checking the measurements, as soon as I hear back I will let you know.
  • Nice work! Prototype looks great!

I imagine with a prototype and a size chart,
It shouldn't take long to get to 50.

Now that it's looking more like a reality than a pipe-dream

We are at 44 currently and still waiting to hear from the following members now:

    ERingIsBestRing

Its definitely a reality just have to get to 50 now.
  • Also, about sizing note that the chart says cm not inches.
A 60 cm chest is a 23 inch chest laying flat. ( Definitely not a triple XL)
I've had size medium jackets in the US that had that same chest size. Although 23 inches does seem slightly large for an Italian 48. If it were true to size, it should be 21 inches -22 inches max.

  • I can appreciate the sentiment, but as a personal preference,
I would request not to have any custom embroidery on my order. Thanks.

Just a thought on the personalisation, maybe something similar to the 108s "James Bond 007" / Quantum of Solace style stitched on the inner pocket??? Number of a limited edition even... Think you could reserve and deserve no 007...

+1 on the suggestion, M. I prefer not to have my name on it. Reminds me of a parent writing their child's name in marker on their clothes.

    I agree on the limited edition numbering. IF that does happen I reserve 47 -{
  • No, not planning on flipping it, I'm just a minimalist.
But if I did have to sell it, due to fit or anything else,
It would indeed make it harder to flip haha
  • And to be quite honest, I don't think we should
push our luck with Tom ford, I'm surprised they're
willing to even do this project, I just want the
darn jacket to be made already, I really don't
care about the details. Knowing that I have a 1 in 50 is enough for me. Just sayin'

How was a sample Jacket Made to ship over from Tom ford? Are we any closer now ?

I don't mean to sound disrespectful, but my unfiltered
opinion is that you guys are dropping the ball
on this project. When you let an entire week go by
without any updates, you run the risk of more and more
people losing interest and the numbers dropping.
If the total of orders is more than 44 then say so,
if the prototype is on it's way in transit, mention it,
if you're working on a v log, talk about it more.
I'm not trying to be harsh, this is just the nature of
the beast when it comes to sales. You have to keep people
interested otherwise, you're next update will be that you're
back to a total of 41. This is just my 2 cents.
But bottom line, you gotta keep people interested,
especially the ones that don't share the same opinion
that this is the greatest Bond jacket of all time.

See post 297 (a week ago)

Until it arrives as stated in that post I am not sure what can be added? Its been advertised on Bond Lifestyle etc

Maybe you missed that post since its been buried with replies

Im sure anyday now the proto will be in hand so that should then be able to be used for a better "push"

Just to clear up any misconceptions, Im sure like most people that visit this site I have a life and a day job and do this in my spare time. I just traveled over to the USA in the last week on business so apologies for the lack of updates.

The prototype is en route to DZ, a vlog will be made and hopefully published within the last week and we are currently at 47 people who have signed up and confirmed. I notice that "Seven Double O Seven" is not one of them so should not have any concerns.

Thanks Sruzgar!!!! I was just wondering maybe it was posted somewhere... How did you manage for TOM Ford to make a sample and send it to DZ?

Simon has a current list, the one at the start of this thread is outdated and irrelevant. If you e-mailed him, I'm sure he has you down for one.
