It would be shipped from Italy - would you still get 25% charge since in EU Rid The Kid?

Unless Italy does an Itexit in the very near future I should be safe :D

But maybe good for others to have this in mind that isn't in the EU.
You're not recording this, are you?

These would be posted from Milan so if you are in the EU there will be TAX and you should not get customs charges, if your outside the EU you will not pay TAX and may or may not get a customs charge.

Again at this point just looking for people who would be interested in one of these at the ballpark price given, there is no final decisions at this point.

I'm in. Thanks - fingers crossed.
  • Thanks for the clarification.

Sruzgar-Did the gentleman you are working with say how many locked in sales he will need for this project to be a possibility?
I'm sure with a high dollar item as this, there is a minimum. Hopefully they also consider the price is substantially more than a neck tie and don't require at least 40 orders. That might be difficult to come by.

Nope no minimum has been requested, simply need to gather the number of people that are interested and get back to them to see if its feasable.

Will they be MTM or standard TF sizing?

Thank you for working on this Simon! {[]

  • The list is growing!! Better update it!

For those who can't justify spending 2000 euros on a cotton jacket, consider this... this jacket is thought by many to be the best Craig era bond jacket with it's iconic, Steve McQueen-inspired timeless appeal, and on top of that, a screen accurate version has never been made available to the public. If this happens, it will be a VERY limited run; with all the factors combined, this item should increase in value substantially over time, so it could be an "investment purchase".

Who knows, it might even put your kids through college one day :))
  • Rid the kid- I would assume they don't have time to do made to measure orders, so it should be standard sizing i.e. 48/50/52 etc. But unless I'm mistaken, Tom Ford boutiques offer free tailoring. So if you bring the article in, they should be able to make adjustments for you. Don't quote me on that, but I'm fairly certain.

Rid The Kid I don't mean to be rude but you are kind of derailing this with all your questions, do you want one or not thats all I need to know at this point!

They will be standard sizing, they will cost around 2000 euro's, its not even guaranteed to happen right now as again I am just collecting names of seriously interested parties.

Well since none of my questions had been answered before I felt there was a need for them to be asked, perhaps others can have some interest.

Before I give the green light I always make sure that all my concerns are out of the way, since I never back out of a deal. If I'm gonna spend €2000 on a piece of cloth I'm gonna be damn sure I want it without any hesitations.

Is that a problem for you?

Simon you are the man!! thanks again for working on this!! I think it's safe to say that SHOULD this work out you are getting Christmas cards from everyone on this forum :)

Rid, Come on man,I understand that you have questions but this is Simons thread. Simon is working his butt off trying to make this dream a reality for us, at least have the respect to be polite to the man. There is lots of information available on this forum about the T.F Harrington without hijacking the man's thread. Yes T. F jackets are sized 50, 52, etc. I own a T.F Harrington and I believe that tailoring it would be possible to some extent, but when I mentioned the idea to my Tom Ford tailor he was very hesitant. I would size up one size as these run small ( especially over the shoulders and chest).
The cotton is super luxurious and the fit is splendid. Should you get a chance to pick one up I would do so in a heart beat as even taking the Bond factor out of it, they are suuuupppeeerr nice jackets.
$2300 - $4,000 for a Screen accurate, discontinued T.F Harrington seems like a deal to me considering the current retail-not screen accurate version is $3000 at Tom Ford.

    Thanks again Simon!
  • Matt B- I think your conversion rate is off. Unless there has been updated info on how much these jackets will cost, 2000 euros does not equal anywhere near $4000.

The euro is worth slightly more than the US dollar. I've watched it drop in value over the past couple of years.

I think we all appreciate what Simon is doing. But in rid the kid's defense, the more questions that are answered, the more solid buyers will join the list.

It's difficult to give a committed answer to a hypothetical question.

    My question is this:
If there is no minimum then when and how will we know if Tom Ford is going to give this project the green light?

Thanks again Simon for even getting this ball rolling. I think more details will help though in bringing about committed buyers.

2000 Euro = $2200. Thanks for keeping my ballpark math honest..but my point was that anything in that range is in my opinion a good deal for this project..

    MrE

I guess we will know when Simon has finished collecting data here and presented it to Tom Ford. The more people interested I would assume would have a more positive result in TF agreeing to do it (making it worth their while)

No point rushing to TF until this thread has been seen by everyone and given a fair chance to put their hands up if interested.

Sometimes with these AJB projects you only get one chance not to blow it

  • Personally, I wouldn't be surprised if this jacket ends up costing less than the none screen accurate one that was released, because a company like this will most likely look at materials used instead of screen accuracy to gauge their pricing. Leather costs more than cotton, so no leather details, should mean a slightly less expensive jacket. Here's to hoping! {[]
  • I didn't mean to sound smug Matt, just didn't want someone who's contemplating this purchase to see $4,000 and think to themselves that there's no way they could afford it.

    Welshboy- thanks for the clarity.

I had absolutely no intention of hijacking this thread, sorry if it was perceived that way. There's no other thread to bring up any enquiries regarding this subject so I thought it could be good to throw out all the uncertainties and questions and get them out in the open = more accurate response from potential buyers.

Seeing as I've never owned a TF item, I don't think I've even laid fingers on a TF item ever, surely you can understand that I wanna know what I'm signing up for. I would be stupid not to ask around beforehand.

To give a 100% committed answer to something that isn't certain is difficult and since there doesn't seem to be a minimum of orders, why do we even need a list?

    Having said that, I'm in.
