    The more the merrier, please check the list on the first page to make sure you have not been missed!

    If this goes ahead it will certainly, like the TF Morocco tie and C&J Molton's be a one time deal so do not sit on fence. Surprised at the number of people that have contacted me about both of those after the fact kicking themselves for not getting in on them.

    I'm in.

    This thread's been busy recently.

    Just out of interest, anybody remember what the most recent Harrington from TF sold for? Think Harrods and Selfridges had it online a few months back.

    PS- Lost this thread for a minute. Think we have too many stickies in the clothing section

    I favorited it for the time being. Stuck on top in white.
  • If anyone owns this jacket and could post what size it is and what the measurements are such as shoulder to shoulder, bottom of collar to bottom of jacket, across the waist, armpit to armpit, I'm sure it would be much appreciated.

    Since if this happens, it's a one time thing, so no exchanges for another size. Want to make sure we choose correctly.

    For the retail version, size 48:

    Sleeve length: 64cm
    Shoulder: 52cm
    Pit to pit, when jacket laid flat: 55cm
    Back length: 63cm
    Back length, including collar up: 70cm
    Waist when laid flat: 51cm

    Hope that helps.

    For the retail version, size 56 my TF Harrington measures:

    Outer Sleeve length: 68.5cm / 27 inches
    Shoulder seam to Shoulder Seam: 52cm / 20.5 inches (Blair - is your measurement correct? Yours same as my 56?)
    Pit to pit, when jacket laid flat: 66cm / Approx 26 inches
    Back length from bottom of collar seam: 64cm / Approx 25 inches
    Back length, including collar up: 70.5cm / Approx 27.75 inches
    Bottom hem length across when laid flat: 56cm / Approx 22 inches

    DBS - what size is yours? EDIT: Doh! See yours is same size as Blairs.

    ****************************************************************************

    Take this size 52 measurement accuracy with a pinch of salt (measurement from eBay seller)

    http://www.ebay.com/itm/TOM-FORD-Mens-Leather-Trim-Baracuta-Jacket-42-/331869567020?hash=item4d44f7b82c%3Ag%3A3OsAAOSwR5dXTcy%7E&nma=true&si=BflqmVo1DfQMV8KEQP7dGUPA%252Bi4%253D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557

    Tag size is 52 or US 42

    - 19" across the shoulder

    - 26.5" sleeve

    - 26" length

    - 23" across the chest (armpit to armpit)

    Logic would estimate a 54 is in-between this 52 and 56 lol so *guess* the sizing would be in the middle of these e.g .... 19.5 /20" across shoulders / 26.75" Sleeve / Approx 24" pit to pit etc which would be perfect for me!!!!

  • Perhaps Blair can chime in, I don't see how a 48 and 56 could have the same shoulder measurment...there are 3 sizes in-between those two sizes
  • welshboy78welshboy78 Posts: 10,318MI6 Agent
    He could be measuring across the horizontal seam maybe

  • I'm no mathematician, but as a rounded off average, assuming that there is consistency in Tom ford sizing, based on the accumulation of all those given measurements... (feel free to correct me) it seems there is the least amount of difference in the shoulder to shoulder and arm length and body length measurements as sizes get larger, ranging from (19 inches to 20.5 inches in the shoulder to shoulder) and (25 inches to 26.5 inches in the arm length) and (25 to 26.5 inches in the jacket length) which explains why this jacket is dubbed a "slim fit" now the main differences seem to be in the chest. So as an average I get this size chart for the chest measurements:

    48= 21.5 inches
    50= 22.5 inches
    52= 23.5 inches
    54= 24.5 inches
    56= 25.5 inches
    58= 26.5 inches

    I hope this takes out some of the guess work, but obviously my formula is not full-proof. Just an educated guess.

    Im sure if this project goes ahead we will have asize asistance by TF. However if you have access to TF store it would be worth popping in to try a jacket on

    If this does get a thumbs up I will be interested in more than one.

    If that's true, then you should tell Simon to put you down for 2. He said the more the merrier, and I'm pretty sure the higher the count, the more likely it is TF will go through with the project. Simon said speak up now because this is a one time event. Once the door closes, that's that.

    Obviously, make sure you can pull it off, but if you want to add more jackets to your order, nows the time.

    I'll get the tape measure out again tomorrow, guys. I was measuring from sleeve top to sleeve top, not the bar across the upper back. But I'll remeasure and take photos so you know where I'm taking the measurements from.

    My bad. Must have been tired. Here are my reviewed measurements:

    Shoulder to shoulder: 50.5cm / 20" approx

    Across back panel: 47cm/ 18 1/2"

    It would seem we have no more takers on this jacket, I have submitted numbers to TF and will let everyone know as soon as I hear back - fingers crossed!

    Do these kind of projects normally take this long to be green-lit? I'm beginning to think Tom ford is pulling our legs, perhaps as payback for the mantis's video and mockery of how their CEOs make decisions and about overly priced polo shirts.

    The contact person at TF was on holiday. A delay is to be expected. Whether it's approved or not remains to be seen. Hopefully the numbers work for them.

    We've seen photos of Mantis with Tom Ford since his videos, so I am sure it's not a consideration. Corporate entities move at their own often glacial pace.

    LOL....really? I wasn't mocking them...I was critiquing certain aspects...and I have been back to the NYC store MANY times since that video and in fact they great me open armed. Believe me, I am a gnat on their radar vs. running a business (empire)....and in fashion you have to have a pretty thick skin to survive....

    BTW, welcome to AJB....

    That's a ridiculous assertion. It's also unfair to David in my opinion.
