Solden Ski Trousers/Pants

Would there be any interest from others in lobbying either Dan or Indy to produce a replica of these? I imagine they are not for everyone but I'd quite like a pair but don't like them enough to buy the originals!

    I'm guessing these are not going to be viable! Thanks for your interest Suit but I think we are a few off!!

    Please don't give up yet gents
    The Ski trousers are the last thing I need to complete the outfit, I would be so in for a good high quality & affordable replica.
    I'll gladly give this project my support -{

    Agreed... very unique trousers so even trying to find a decent "close enough" is not likely... A replica is going to be the only real way to go on these.. (unless you have the income for the real ones !)

    I don't think it solely has to do with income, my thought goes like this: is it reasonable to purchase £1000 pants? How much wear do they get? Perhaps 1 month every year. I can't justify that purchase for myself :)

    I'd be definitely in, depending on the price.

    Maybe if we can get to 10 Indy would consider it, I'll drop him an email and see what his thoughts are

    The price would be probably around 200$ I guess anyway, I would love to buy a pair but I'm just a huge MAYBE unfortunately...
  • GSGS Posts: 333MI6 Agent
    Understood - I'm not keen to go above $200 - was hoping they would be nearer the $150 mark.

    If the choice is $150 for good quality and $200 for great quality I'm in for the great one. It will be a better deal in the long run.

    I have PM'd Indy - I'll report back when he replies

    Indy has come back to me and says it is not necessary to do a run, they can do a made to measure pair for $275. Will contact him to get some more detail and will probably go for it as will be skiing in January.... Although I can't imagine they are very waterproof....
  • SuitSuit Posts: 65MI6 Agent
    Interesting for sure. Awaiting some more info then.

    Hello again gents,
    after having a very turbulent time, when all the bad things come at one i am back again after a few month.
    All my bond items are stowd away at the moment but i took out the TF ski pants to take some pictures -{

    for all of you who want the look and save some money, i can recommend the german Gebirgsjäger pants
    IMG_2069.jpg

    bundeswehr sizing is really complicated, even for me who served back when there was conscription 8-)
    so i got mine from this ebay shop which offers a nice selection of sizes based on your actual measurements
    http://www.ebay.de/itm/271815490620?_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649&var=570642860368&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT

    i took 186cm and 48 waist and i got a size 40 bundeswehr size which fits perfect.

    also found a loose piece of fabric in the back pocket of the TF pants with a tag on it... eventually Indy, Dan or somebody could use it to order it with the number?
    in this pic is a more natural look of the colours
    IMG_2070.jpg
    the bundeswehr pants are made of 50% shearings, 33% poliamid, 17% polyester

    if needed, i can give you more details and measurements for the TF size 46 & 48
    (had an accident back then and was not able to give it back intime :( )

    best regards,
    Sascha

    PS:
    i will post some comparsion pics of Dans V2 vs TF solden jacket in the Royale thread

    A very interesting suggestion however assuming the Bundeswehr trousers are the ones on the right in the photo aren't they far too light in colour? Or is that just the photo?

    Hello,

    yes you are right, the bundeswehr pants are on the right side. i forgot to mention it -{
    They are more greyish in colour but under normal lighting conditions it looks like in this picture and the ones in the ebay link i posted.

    Here the TF fabric is on top of the BW pants
    IMG_2070.jpg
    but i will take some better pictures tomorrow

    They also don't have the flaps over the front pockets but they only should be a relatively cheap option for people who just like the cut and appearance of those stirrup pants.

    I will also try to dye them to get a darker tint.
    but since it is made of 17% polyester i dont know how the final result will look like :))

    Here you can see the colour is really close to the knit colour of Dan's jacket.
    I hope this give a god impression of all colours -{

    Brilliant! Thanks a lot for this additional info! Looks like they'd go well with the Royale Solden.

    Thanks PPK - I'm going to follow up with Indy on getting a replica pair made. When I finally get organised would you be able to provide some more photos of the TF solden pants?
  • PPKPPK Posts: 60MI6 Agent
    Thank you! im glad you like it.
    And sure i can provide you detailed photos and measurements for size 46 & 48 of the TF Pants if needed.
    Personally i like the fit of the bundeswehr pants over the TF fit. 46 is really tight (got a little belly when i was sick ;% ) and the 48 give me a really big booty :))

    I will try to dye them the next days so stay tuned for some pictures of the experiment.

    This pants is in my WTB list~wish someone could sell it~
  • PPKPPK Posts: 60MI6 Agent
    After askig in several professional laundries about dye the pants,
    all of them advised me not to try it since the pants are 'no wash' and would end in a dapple colouration :#
    so i will leave them as they are.

    If there are any news about the magnoli replica plase let us know -{

    We'll be making a pair of these for someone shortly, so should have a prototype ready later next month. If anyone wants to order sight-unseen, shoot me an e-mail...
