I've been down the QoS Tom Ford Cardigan Rabbithole.....

I've spent waaaaaaaayyyy too much time trying to find an affordable replica of the Tom Ford QoS cardigan, and it's not pretty.

Ill save you my ultimate conclusion, which for me is simply to buy the Magnoli.

However, here are some of my findings:

1. At some point Topman did a pretty damn close shawl cardigan to the TF. Those across the pond who wear a size small are very welcome:

2. Bond approved brand, Yohji Yamamoto also did a damn close version as well. Again, anyone who wears a M is very welcome:

3. Another Bond brand did a very close version, 7 for all Mankind, except in a dark navy:

4. Ralph Lauren has a very very close enoughs that checks a lot of the boxes:

5. Burberry has an amazing version that I just can't find to actually buy: the Burberry Thayer.

6. A school uniform store has a nice rib knit cardigan, I've written to see if they have it in black:

7. The Wild Card - "Phigvel Maker" - random images on the web and a Japanese auction site paint this as a decent choice:

If anyone can find one in a Size Large please let me know!! Lol

Happy hunting,
Sean

This cardigan has been the bane of my existence since I started the site. Honestly, aside from the Jack Threads one which was mostly acrylic, the $380 one from the small mom and pop operation Cashmere Heartland is the closest I found. And I have looked everywhere in the last 10 months.... I really hope we see some new options this fall.

I'm with you on this one Sean, I hunted high and low, every tom ford item that came up was always too small, every other one I found no matter how close always had some niggling detail I didn't like. I settled on a Jeff Banks item for a while until I found the Prada item I now have, it's not bad at all there are some pics of it on the budget bond thread. I still hunt for a decent tom ford item but the chances of finding one are getting slim I think 8-)
It was either that.....or the priesthood

I prefer navy to black, and with their usual 40% off deal, it's a viable option:

The Magnoli one indeed seems the best value.

My £2.50 Topman cardigan arrived today, but unfortunately there won't be any photos. According to the description in eBay it had "Not been worn many times", yet when I opened the package it was covered in what seems to be cat hairs, it was dirty and had holes in it (notcmentioned in the description) and it had obviously been washed lots. Disappointing, but I've had lots of good luck on eBay recently, and this is the first time in ages I have been let down.

I have asked for a refund, so we will see what happens.
