Collecting JB items

I see a lot of items for sale on ajb007 that are still new with tags.
Do you wear your clothes/assessories or do you keep them preciously?
I personally feel bad wearing and using such expensive items, knowing how hard it was to source them.
On the other hand, I think it is stupid not to use them, as fashion, tastes and interests change over time...
What is your advice ?

It depends. If the item is extremely rare I dont wear it, and will only keep it for a bit then release it to another.

Otherwise I wear mine all the time.

I suppose it depends why one bought the pieces? Personally I always buy items to wear, and only buy items that I will genuinely get use from, I have that many clothes these days none are in danger of wearing out. I can totally understand buying items to exhibit and display and never be used. But I struggle slightly with the idea of paying £700 for a polo shirt and keeping it in the armoire, never wearing it just to have it because bond has one.

I wear everything. Though, the only SA pieces I have are the Barbour jacket, Skyfall NPeal, Menlo, Henry's, and Sunspel... for now. But, I would wear screen used items if I had some, and if they fit me, which they would not, so I don't buy screen used stuff and I would probably sell them if I got one somehow. But, I'm not the collector type. It's all about wearing the clothes/accessories for me.

    Always wear!

I think many people here purchase a few sizes to try before the item sells out

Do you think DC era items will keep the same interest once he will be replaced ? In other words, Pierce Brosnan era items do not attract much attention on the forum today...

Thats an interesting question because many Brosnan items can still be found today, in one form or another, but Brosnan didn't wear as many casual outfits as Craig has, and much of Brosnan's casual wear is either unidentified, unavailable or otherwise unobtainable. I would imagine that D.C. era clothes will be of interest as long as they remain obtainable in some way.

I think they will hold attention. Brosnan was a 90's style and Craig is a modern style. In 5-10 years from now we will see. However his Brioni suits still rock.

I think certain items will, the tf suits of the last two films won't as suit cuts change quite quickly, but items like the Sunspel polo, shawl collared cardigans etc will.

Wear my stuff, forms the majority of my wardrobe.

Although still to wear my Matchless, BC chinos and Jv (1 year old boy some part of that reason, babies and suede jackets are a bad mix)... Oh and Dans Altausse jacket, but thats down to too warm.

    But everything else gets worn

    What about you guys
Anything not worn that you intend / intended to?

I wear as much as I can, when I can. Wear my Barbour almost every day when the weather is typically British. Wear my Sunspels, Orlebar Browns, J Crew boots, Church Ryder IIIs, Converse OTRs, 7 For All Mankinds, Brunello Cucinelli chinos, even my TF Harrington (once or twice). Just weather-proofed my Matchless and John Varvatos jackets to get more wear out of them. Mustn't be too precious, in my opinion.

I second that. They were made to wear :)

Good to know that some of you wear your clothes as much as possible. Some items were so hard for me to source...I'm not sure if I'm ready to wear them...plus I get the same questions from my wife :"is this new ? When did you buy it?..,"

Haha I think all wives or bond windows have very similar conversations with most of us. " Is that a different watch your wearing?"
"erm? This old thing? Noooo I've had it years"
" when did you buy those suede boots? How many pairs of suede boots do you need? "
" had them ages just not worn them much, and one less than the amount of shoes you have"
" who the hell is tom ford and why have you given him £1500? "
" erm he's the plumber who fixed the boiler!!!"

I wear as much as I can, when I can. Mostly SA stuff , so BR coat , barbour , menlo all get a good wearing soon thanks to the british weather.I swap around my 3 omegas - CR PO , Spectre seamaster , seamaster 40th annivesary DAD one.
TF polo , sunspel and Orlebar brown all the time I love them.
C&J shoes are my favs and now I have the RM Williams boots these are amazing !
Then we have dan's stuff - Harrington , auteese and Mr white.
Always buy what I know I'll wear and added bonus JB does too and besides it looks great and makes my wardrobe.
Craig is my main influence never felt the urge to buy the brosnan era.

Love those excuses Chris and I played that one when I wore the auteese jacket for the 1st time.
Wife said " I haven't seen that one , how many do you need !
Me "bought this ages ago and it was a bargain
That worked must been the amount of wine i gave her :D

The GF seems to enjoy the TF boutique experience, so I guess that's a plus.

I'm right in the middle with 8 pairs of suede chukkas! .... I think?
Oh my wife didnt complain when I gave her an omega constellation, or the deville or the Tom ford sunglasses or the Tom ford perfume! She did recently have a shock though while on holiday when the stepdaughter dropped chocolate ice cream on my ob setters, " stop making such a fuss theyre only shorts" she said, " it's not like they cost much"
    " Oh no only £130 "
"WHAT?? For bloody shorts??....... Hang on you've got 4 pairs! "

Little miss double standards, is what I call Mrs Coop. If she knew the full extent of my Bond expenditure she would be probably faint! Fortunately she's not that familier with sunglasses watches and many labels. I bought a couple of ob t shirts recently, they just happened to arrive on a day she got home before me and got to the mail first. I explained they were just a couple of cheap t shirts, two for £20....I don't consider it lying it more that I'm a willing participant in a campaign of misinformation. Oh and double standards? While she was pontificating about the ridiculous cost of my shorts she was wearing a £140 ted baker swim suit, ted baker sunglasses, an omega watch and some Kurt gieger sandals!

Half the reason I started the IA site was as a cover for my purchases. Now I can tell the wife anything I buy "Was actually sent free by X brand for a review". :D

I just try and ignore her closet full of purses and shoes ... :s

Glad to see most of you wear your collectibles...I have been told on occasion that many wives out there hate my vlogs...because they often are followed by deficits in accounts.
