Bond triple bezant shield lapel badge

I'm just gauging interest really, I've had a couple of members contact me to ask me where I got the lapel pin badge from used as my avatar, this is isn't a pin badge, as I'm sure some of you know it's the bond shield on the front of my omega aqua terra watch box. But it got me thinking, a pin badge like that would be a nice little thing to have, so I've made a couple of enquiries and can get a quantity manufactured in the UK for around £6.00 each, thats ordering 50, is there any interest out there for getting these made? I'm not trying to make a profit and even considered getting them done and sending them out to those members I regularly chat to then putting the rest on eBay or something. Let me know if your Interested, I'm also getting further quotes. Many thanks gentlemen.

Wonderful, I will post further details as I get them and any change in the price also, as soon as this becomes viable I will post my watch box to the manufacturer which should help get a decent result

Don't want to be a party pooper, but.... I think Omega may have registered this as a TM, and you may be open to C&D orders on this project. The logo as it is represented here hasn't really got much to do with the Bond coat of arms, it's just three bezants minus all the rest. This the only thing Omega could claim as theirs, which is why it was altered so drastically from the Bond coat of arms we all recognise. We all know how devastating these projects can be for the people involved if it all goes legal. It's happened many a time on here.

I'm currently looking into this as I already thought there could be a legal issue, two things though, if the chevron with the three bezants exist on any other coat of arms there will be no issue as the laws of heraldry are very complex and if that be the case a coat of arms can't be subject to tm laws or copyright. But that being said I have a lot of work to do on this project including attempting to get a better price for a quality product. If omega has a tm on the shield they display it would have to be with yellow bezants in that case I would look at having the bezants in gold, either way I will post progress on here as it seems there is an appetite for these.
    Thanks for the interest gents.

.....orbis? Thank you for the kind words tp.
What I've been told is its incredibly hard to trademark generic shapes such as circles, squares chevrons etc, but entering into the world of coats of arms is a complex thing, I've heard things like proving your family line to prove the right to bare arms and things like that, the chevron is on many coats of arms as are bezants as knights were paid with bezants. But that all aside omega don't appear to have registered this probably as it's part of a full design and the intellectual rights to that design are unclear.
So in a nut shell I'm progressing and awaiting some prices, time scales and advice on the most appropriate manufacturing process.

Just a quick look tbrough this guide shows that a chevron means " Protection"
And Bezant means " virtue, wealth and prosperity "

just for fun I looked up my family crest it too has a chevron and three dragon heads which
apparently means my ancestors were " always up for a fight " :D

Yes apparantly the bezant was a byzantine coin and paid to knights so your right on the money there tp :D

Further to the trademark issue on using the shield as omega have, I have had a lengthy discussion with a specialist and I've found out some interesting things that I relayed to him, the coat of arms described in ohmss by Sir Hillary is actually a real coat of arms for the Bond family, the motto originally non sufficit orbis came into existence in the 17th century, the fictional characters coat of arms and therefore the shield used by omega is based on elements of the proper coat of arms. With this information my tm specialist says that omega could not trademark this shield. They could only copyright it's use on a watch or watchbox, similar to their use of the Omega symbol. They can't trademark the Omega symbol as it's a Greek letter and no one can trademark a letter. They have no legal recourse if anyone uses the Omega sign on anything other than a watch. As for the shield? There is no problem with me using it.
For those interested below is the real Bond coat of arms. The motto non sufficit orbis was originally a war cry used by the knight when entering battle.

I will start compiling a list of those interested in the pin badge and I should have some final costs by early next week, hopefully by late next week some composition details and some artwork of the badge.

This is what the badge will be based on

For me the pin is just something to have. I would never use a pin on a suit lapel or a jacket.

They'd lambaste me if I were in politics for refusing to wear a flag lapel pin, not because it is a flag but because it is a pin.
