I'm having a ball....lot's of clans represented, lots of food and beer...
My paternal grandmother was a Chisholm. Further back in my ancestry are McFarlands, Campbells and Burns. I did one of those Ancestry.com tests and I'm, as expected, all English, Scottish, and Irish...mostly English. I thought it odd that it didn't list Welsh.
Tomorrow will be various games and demonstrations. One gentleman was weaving tartan fabric in his tent and giving a sort of living history lesson on weaving...one concession was selling haggis...my wife wants to try it tomorrow..Many of the concessionaires are from Scotland or other parts of the Commonwealth.
Our state of Missouri has a huge population of people who are descendants of people from the British Isles; most are down here in the Ozark Mountains.
