Last year it was revealed that Canadian filmmaking duo Lee Demarbe and Ian Driscoll had been working on a re-adaptation of the For Your Eyes Only novel, since Bond had entered the public domain in their country: http://www.indiewire.com/2015/11/canadian-remake-of-james-bond-film-for-your-eyes-only-in-the-works-spectre-followup-starts-in-spring-101751/
Since then however, there has been no news or updates regarding this concept, which in my opinion, is probably due to the struggles of getting somebody to finance a film that can't be distributed in major markets, namely the U.S. and UK (differing copyright laws). So I wondered if anybody had an information/updates to share, or has there been any attempts to contact these guys?
Me personally, I would be very much intrigued to see a lower budget, pared down, art-house Bond flick with a more mature tone in line with Ian Fleming's novels. Curious to hear everyone else's opinions/concerns about this.
