Tom Ford Skyfall Tab Collar Shirt Codes?

Anybody have the label or tag codes for the light blue tab colour shirt?

I have the one for the white version but need the blue. The one up for sale recently with the suit had all the suit labels pictured except the shirt and now the thread is closed etc. Hopefully a member here has bought it and can get in touch

You mean this one? I just checked and it didn't come with any code tag unfortunately. I'll dig out and check its packaging tomorrow for one though.

yeah its the pale blue one. I've have been wanting one ever since I first saw SF and fell in love with it but never found one in-store. Until I realized last year they were only available through made-to-measure so I made an appointment at TF London and got it made for me, one of my favorite Bond wardrobe pieces and the perfect dress shirt!

you definitely should! I don't know why the tab-collar shirts seem to be so maligned on here, or at least when SF was initially released. Reminds me a lot of Connery and I love how it frames the tie and keeps everything neat. Daniel Craig's Bond never looked sharper in my opinion.

Tab collars are wonderful and look very sharp, but they're not appropriate for Bond. Tab collars go against how Bond generally doesn't like fussy things. It was a style that the early 20th century Prince of Wales (who later became Edward VIII and the Duke of Windsor) made popular, and Fleming didn't like Windsor knots (though the Duke of Windsor never actually wore the knot) and Anderson & Sheppard suits because of him. And though it originated as a British style, it quickly became far more popular in America and thus is associated more with American style. Bond should dress British and not American. What about them reminds you of Connery? Connery never wore anything remotely like a tab collar, instead always wearing the standard British wide spread collar. Skyfall emphasises how British Bond is, yet with the tab collar, single-vented suits and crew cut you'd think they're trying to make him look like an American.

Tab collars remind me of Britain 1960s due to the mod culture which is still heavily influenced around the UK

I know Connery never wore a tab collar, but just the general look and silhouette of Craig's suits, shirts, and ties in SF give off a strong 60's throwback and Connery influence to me, even if tailoring wise they're completely different. I think its mainly details like a suit you could forget, skinny tie, small tie knot, etc.

    Walther,

In regards to the fabric choice I am also interested in a fabric code/color name, etc.
When you had it made, did you just specify pale blue broadcloth? Or did you have more info?
I'm planning on doing a MTM for a shirt soon in that color (hopefully), but with the semi-spread collar instead. I know it's not screen accurate, but neither is my Prince of Wales (I know it isn't really Prince of Wales Matt S) suit (the O'Connor cut that actually fits me properly Matt S... :)) ).

You're right that Craig's suits are somewhat 60s inspired, but they're from a much different part of 60s fashion than where Connery's suits came from. The silhouette of Connery's full-cut suits and Craig's too-tight suits are almost complete opposites. As far as the cuts are concerned, they only share the same tie width and lapel width. I'm actually working on an article that compares and contrasts Craig's suits with Connery's.

Was Bond ever a mod? Would Fleming have approved of mod culture?

Nothing says mod like a Harrington jacket, also bonds Haiti outfit has a rather mod air about it.
It was either that.....or the priesthood

    Hello,
I have both the stripe suit and shirt specially made from TF in 2012. They matched exact items "Bond coded" in their lookup before I ordered.

I'll send you a pic once I get home.

Just checked the paperwork that came with my shirt and there's no mention of color code or anything. I'm guessing because it was custom made? I remember when I was at TF and we were selecting all the correct details (tab collar, French cuff, darted back). When we selected the color, and a reason why I'm glad I got it made in person, is the employee brought out like 5-6 different swatches of pale blue and we had to find the screen accurate one. I had a lot of pics of Craig in SF on my phone in preparation so that made it fairly easy.

Looks like that might be what I would have to do - Im guessing the stuntman label above has all the exact shirt specs just not the blue colour!! Milan are quite helpful so maybe they have the real shirt still on record!

What fascinates me is why the stuntman's shirt doesn't have the additional MTM label on it like all of Craig's shirt did, since presumably they're the exact same shirts.

Here's some more pics of mine along with a reference pic that might be helpful to those of you who are looking to get one MTM.
