Daniel Craig and Nike Trainers, A Longstanding Relationship

As many or us who follow his personal style know, Daniel Craig certainly loves Nike when it comes to casual footwear. From the mildly controversial Air Articulate II's in Casino Royale, to the charmingly ugly Air Max 90 Premiums of today, his affinity for the brand has covered a lot of ground. Though he has occasionally opted for trainers made by other brands such as Adidas or Hummels, he seems to prefer Nike above all else. It's a topic that somewhat interests me, and I've been considering getting a pair of those 90 Premiums he wore at the New Yorker Festival, so here's a pictorial history of Dan and his trainers of choice.
Back in 2006, it was somewhat contentious to include these in the Venice scenes of Casino Royale:
Questions were raised over the 'Bond-appropriate' nature of wearing trainers and making them canon, but over time I feel people grew to like them, or didn't actually care much as you can't really see them in the film. They're quite rare and surely must be coveted by those who have a pair in their collection.
Not long after, sometime in 2007 or 2008, he was spotted in LA sporting these Toki Hi-Tops in navy suede with pink bottoms, a pair I personally find much more aesthetically pleasing that the Articulates:
They still pop up periodically on the grey market, and I've come quite close to grabbing them a few times, only to opt out at the last minute (I have a complicated time accepting trainers into my wardrobe). This is a similar pair I've never bothered positively ID'ing:
Over the coming years he was often spotted wearing a pair of Nike Air Pegasus 83's while going to, and coming back from a workout, or just out shopping with his wife. Credit where it's due, I learned what these were from that thread we had on his personal style a while back, HarveyMushman was the one who ID'd these:
In the days of 2010-11, he moved into the realm of higher tops, with his Sweet Classic High's in the 'dark obsidian/yellow' colourway (photocred to Sruzgar on the 3rd image). These are my favourite pair he's worn, and would love to buy them if anyone happens to have a pair in 11/11.5/12 they don't need anymore -{ :
This brings us to the last several years in which Dan has proudly sported a few pairs of Nike Air Max's, the 90 Sneakerboots and 90 Premiums. These are probably the most bold choices he has made in regards to his footwear, as the shape and silhouette definitely stand out in a way that makes them impossible to miss:
I can't tell if he's trying to make a statement with these, or if he's at a point where comfort trumps all, but they've definitely become a hallmark of his. He sometimes wears them in outfits that I would describe as 'bold':
But I don't think they look outright bad. Like I said I'm seriously considering grabbing a pair of the 90 Premiums in Ale Brown, but am worried I won't wear them enough. My office is fairly lax on footwear policy, but I feel most of my outfits just work better with ankle boots. Or if I want to look more rugged I'll opt for my Red Wing Iron Rangers. The Sweet Classic High's are what I find most aesthetically pleasing but they're impossible to find in the right colourway these days.
Here's a selection of bonus pics from the years. I hope everyone has enjoyed this, and if not I apologize for the obscenely long post with so many images to load.
I believe he's wearing Nike's here, but I've never ID'd them. He's also wearing a Liverpool FC training shirt they gave him with 'DC' on the chest. I guess he'll Never Walk Alone in his Nike's:

I have the Toki hi tops in that colour way and have made a few Nike id skateboarding customs in similar colours too. Go well with anything blue.
You asked about a pair of Ale Brown in 11.5 and here you go. -{
Can someone help me to spot what he is wearing on the pic?
I believe they may be Nike free run 2's in all black. Retail £69.99 possibly in the U.K.? Can't definitely remember.
These are the Sweet Classic High's in the 'dark obsidian/yellow'
And thanks nafets47 for the link, I've had those on my watch list for a while now!
Thank you Awilliam007!
He appears to be wearing the Air Max 1 Essential's, in a colourway still available on fleebay! The biggest difference I can see is that most pairs I see on the grey market have orange writing for the Nike highlights, where as Dan's are red.
Then again we're looking at a pretty mediocre quality pic from 6 years ago (yikes, 2010 was that long ago ...) So perhaps his were also orange.
Released in November 2009, they were a 5th anniversary special edition celebrating the collaborative partnership between Nike and a Dutch boutique known as 'Patta'
they feature a multitude of materals; Corduroy, denim, nubuck and more
the exact SKU is 366379 400
From what I've learned these were a pretty expensive pair at the time of release, at the moment they look to be going for upwards of $900 - Yikes!!
Oh wow, good job! Amazing detective work. I noticed these are still out there, but as you said, insanely expensive. I found some on ebay for $1000 USD. I wonder if DC was a fan of that boutique, or if he just appreciates the obscure rarity of them.
More than likely they were given to him courtesy of Nike and he liked them enough to wear 'em out. Its pretty well known for big fashion brands to "donate" their products to celebrities for exposure purposes.
I agree, Jude Law is the same always in Nike, probably a sponsorship as neither actor wears other 'sports' trainers only high end designers

New Balance 530 luxe suede burgundy. Best bet is ebay at the moment I'd say.

It's Blair right?
Could you comment on sizing? Would you take the same size in a comparative nike?
cheers, Liam
Hope that helps!
Cheers, then,

Uh huh...
The shoes are definitely not to small, nor too big, so I wanted to ask if this is normal and it's just the fact that it's a new pair? Anyone owns a standard pair of Air Max 90's? (the sneakerboots have a different construction and additional padding so that's not comparable).
I'm asking because I honestly can't remember if I ever had such painful issues with sport shoes.
I went for these by the way, not sure if better or worse then Craig's!
That's exactly what I was thinking - that Craig would probably get them if he hadn't had those Brown Ale ones already. Let's hope I only have to get used to them. Thanks for helping out guys!
