Listing on Ebay at the moment...

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/SKYFALL-JAMES-BOND-ORIGINAL-PROP-amp-STORYBOARDS-underground-Chase-007-/262701239996?_trksid=p2047675.l2557&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&nma=true&si=81YI%252F4FBQdzb0xo8N73VB4vbano%253D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc

As far as I know this older model of radio wasn't used anywhere in the scenes filmed for SF. Beware.

If anyone can prove otherwise, please post up the evidence.

Bit of a weird one that huh?

I took a look at the pics in the listing a what struck me was the build quality. It's kinda good, but not.

From experience, bond props tend to be one of two ways. Either a bog standard plain prop, or one that'll have all the correct signs, logos etc you'd expect to see.

For instance a stunt gun will be just black rubber, but all the makers logos will be there, all the details. There's also stuff like the CR defrib which has text and other realistic details.

The supposed skyfall Silva radio in the aforementioned eBay listing has the realistic logos on but they're really shoddy, labels cut on the wonk and stuck on all over the place....

It just doesn't smack of the attention to detail and build quality of a typical modern bond prop.

I'm on the fence with my legs dangling over the 'fake' side.

It's not the build quality that worries me. It's the radio model. I don't recall such an old model being used. These were phased out years before SF, and SF used the modern handsets. I'd check myself, but haven't got the time or means as I'm working from home until Friday. A friend won this auction and I advised him not to pay until I'd thoroughly checked, and I can't right now :#

At the time SF was made (and set), all UK police were using Airwaves radio's, (these are much like large mobile phones) not the PRC type that this one is - they were phased out in the early 2000's - i started my police career with something similar, and would have noticed such a glaring mistake in SF if obviously... and annoyed my wife with that detail too, like we all do! I concur that this is not a legit SF prop...just an old radio

My thoughts exactly. It's too old a model. I can only recall seeing the Airwave's in the film.

The Motorola he listed is too old. No way did they use that on SF either. It's a good 15 years too old.

David Z has the right Motorola Airwaves in his collection, no doubt the SU item too. I will have to use this as an excuse to watch it again.... :D

I have on my Kindle. Airwaves are seen aplenty, no old Motorola in ANY scene as far as I can see. I have Silvas SFX Airwave. That's what started all this.

Via email, and putting my build quality thoughts to one side, I did suggest that maybe the radio featured in a different scene, maybe worn by the MI6 guys in the new digs scenes, or one of Silva's men as they approach Skyfall Lodge?

But so far that theory has fallen on its arse too.

Think there's too many doubts on this one to safely say it's genuine.

Thought this may be on one of the background police officers but they seem to have the airwave. Certainly isn't silvas as previously stated

It's 100% fake. Just had it verified by one of the propmakers. They did only use the Airwaves. I've let the buyer know. Cheers folks.

Here's the update. Last night he asked the guy if he had any proof it was screen used and informed him that a couple of people (myself and another member here) told him to hold off until I'd contacted everyone I knew that worked on SF as the radio model looked too old to be used on that production, plus we gave him a contact at EON so he could ask directly. Within half an hour the purchase had been cancelled by the seller with no explanation other than it was too much hassle. The seller also said the buyer was being malicious, bullying and threatening in his asking for more information and for contacting EON and informing on him, as he was only a hobby-person.

'Nuff said I think. Best avoid that seller, as from those actions it looks like they are knowingly in the wrong. The mags offered look to be off an SA80 to me (abrupt angular design) and not a H&K 416. So something doesn't ring true there either.

I started this thread, you bonehead. It's part of the fake listing that this thread is actually about. I know reading is hard for you and you only normally look at the pictures. But you'd look less of a moron if you at least had some small idea of what's going on around you before you bluster in with your big daft luminous feet 8-)
