I'm a newbie to the world of Bond fashion, and so I call upon my compatriots' extensive knowledge to help me find a cheaper alternative to the Brunello Cucinelli blazer. Looking for an affordable, screen-accurate or at least closely resembling jacket to the one during the Moroccan desert scene:
Anyone have any suggestions to help me out?
Cheers,
Kris

Appreciate the prompt reply!
Actually I came across this site while searching, seems like a great resource. However, the jackets listed are either discontinued, such as the Gagliaridi Taupe Linen Blazer which seems to resemble the film version the closest, or the various sizes have sold out.
Unless anyone can point me in the direction of where I might purchase a second-hand Gagliaridi Taupe Linen Blazer, I think I'll need to find an alternative.
Thanks

I'm the guy that runs Iconic Alternatives. The problem right now is we are completely out of season for a linen blend jacket. Believe me, I try and update all the posts at least every 2 months so they stay current. Unfortunately there's just not much out there right now.
The one Chriscoop shared comes really close in color I think, just too bad about the patch pockets.
However, there are some great alternatives on ebay if you search. Just as an example, this one from Banana Republic:

If you're really desperate for one, I would try ebay. If not, wait until spring and I'm sure there'll be a ton more options!
And thanks for the shout out Tennyson!
I would assume a good tailor could alter the patch pockets no?
Bond: “I must be dreaming.”
I don't think so. Even if the tailor removed them you'd still have the stich marks where they were. And then you'd have a jacket with no pockets.
I guess if you wanted to make the investment, a tailor could do almost anything. But I'm not sure it would be worth it. Honestly, I've found some great options on ebay. I just bought a jcrew cotton-linen jacket for $20 (pics coming tomorrow). There are some great deals there right now, especially because cotton-linen jackets are out of season right now.
Edit: forgot to say thanks for your support, sir!
Depends how accurate a screen look you want? It wouldn't bother me at all having patch pockets as it's in-line with the more casual relaxed feel of the on screen outfit, and pairing up with your chosen chinos etc still gives you that vibe.
I agree, a lot comes down to personal preference. The Massimo Dutti alternative I picked up a while ago has patch pockets and a much rougher weave. But the color comes close and I like that it's unlined, so it's really breathable. It's a trade-off. All I'm saying is that there really aren't many options available now and ebay has some great deals on jackets that coming pretty close. That J.Crew one I bought looks like an excellent match (we'll see when it gets here this morning). And at $20 NWT it was too cheap to pass up.
