Sorry I don't really keep up to date with these things, did Magnoli do something that warrants us crapping on him? Or are you just taking the piss? Somewhat confused, I've always enjoyed his products...
Low blow.
I've found all things I've bought from Indy very high quality.
Bond: “I must be dreaming.”
I have most ties (all doing exceptionally well given the wear my job puts them through), polos and a cracking interpretation of the Armani CR jacket...

Do the ties double as a garrote, M? Or are you referring to barbeque lunches?
I will agree with you. I am glad Indy makes the products he does. I just got the Quantum sunglasses and had prescription lenses put in. Quite nice for the price. Can the frames match my OP Airman? No, but I wouldn't expect them to.
His prices are reasonable, as they include international shipping.
And I will add that Indy is an honest person.
If you like the stuff you buy and think it's worth it then by all means carry on, but I've defiantly been at the wrong end of the stick way too many times to ever go back for more.
As for insulting, well I think you're been a little bit precious there. I don't see my comment any less disrespectful as coming straight on the forum to sell and make money. Again, just my opinion.
Agreed! And good value too.
Thanks Indy.
Is it too late to use this on my purchase last week?

It just concerns me that people will have bad purchases like I did.
Myself? I have had good experiences with Indy's products. Yes, I'd appreciate a tracking system on packages, but for the price, I am willing to wait.
This thread amply shows why I didn't go into details about the issues that I had ordering my cocktail cuff shirt from Magnoli.
As someone points out, the reviews on his site are all extremely positive, which seems statistically unlikely. Then there was the matter of the obviously fake "review" here ostensibly written by a customer who said that the staff at a Tom Ford store believed that a replica was an actual Tom Ford piece - debunked pretty quickly as the item in question was never sold in the colour that the person was wearing!
I had only bought ties previously, as many of the items seemed very expensive for what you're getting and the accuracy was just not there on others, especially the suits. The cuts were completely different in some cases from what was worn in the films.
When I saw the cocktail cuff shirt being offered I originally resisted because, as much as I've always wanted one, they again seemed inaccurate. However, after someone pointed out that the collars were far too small Indy replied that it was just the angle the picture was taken at. So I thought I'd give it a try.
After a couple of months I had no reply, and this was a little outside of the delivery schedule. I emailed, and I got a reply a few hours later that it had just been sent out (IIRC, that day according to the tracking - it's not available online anymore). That was suspiciously coincidental and made me think that it was sitting somewhere until I reminded them about it, but it could have just been a coincidence.
When the shirt arrived, the collar was tiny and had no interfacing nor did it have slots for collar stays. I emailed Inday about this and I checked the website a couple of days afterward. It said that the shirt came with a "soft collar". As I was ordering it to wear as a dress shirt with my suits I find it hard to believe that I wouldn't have noticed it, but once again gave them the benefit of the doubt. However, I had to ask if they had sent me someone else's shirt by mistake because the measurements were so off.
The length was supposed to be 29" but was 31-3/4", and I had listed 16" for the collar and it measured 16-3/4". In addition to having a lot of extra fabric bunched up in my pants the collar hanging loose made it look like I was wearing one of my dad's shirts. When I emailed Indy he did offer to take it back to fix it but what I couldn't believe was that he said "I would understand the collar possibly being a bit looser as they may have added room for comfort".
What place that does made-to-measure arbitrarily changes measurements for "comfort"? The whole point of made-to-measure is that the clothes are...made-to-measure! This was extremely worrying to me as it indicated to me that I was dealing with a very amateurish company.
After I confirmed that the measurements were indeed off (via pictures with a measuring tape) Indy and I arranged for me to send the shirt directly to Hong Kong to be fixed. He said they could add slots for collar stays if I liked. When I asked him how the manufacturer would reimburse me for the shipping costs he wrote "They'll be covering the cost of alteration and return shipping. If you want the shipping from you to the tailor reimbursed, we'll have to cover that ourselves.".
*if* I want the shipping costs covered? IF? Why would I pay to ship a shirt to someone to have them fix the mistake that they made? At this point I realized that this was a level of service that people should be warned about. I was about to post something here but then worried that I still didn't have my shirt.
I emailed Indy a copy of the bill for postage and asked that he reimburse me via Paypal - he had suggested that or a credit to his site, but by this point I did not want that.
Six days after I had mailed the shirt I got an email from the manufacturer that they had received the shirt. Six weeks later I emailed all three people whose addresses I had asking what was happening as I hadn't heard anything. I heard nothing for two days so I emailed Indy, and five days later the manufacturer emailed me to say "The good is ready , but as our A/C account information , we have not receive any payment for this order , please help to advise the status , we will send to you once get the payment , thanks."
So I was supposed to pay them to fix their mistake?
Two days later I was told it had shipped, and I received the shirt two weeks later. The collar size and length were fixed but there were no slots for collar stays. Inday said "So, do you want to call this a day, or shall we come up with a solution for the collar? We could of course take this back again, but I imagine you don't want that hassle. Alternatively, we could send you some extra fabric to have some collar stay slots added by a local seamstress or perhaps even send you an entirely new collar? Let me know what you'd prefer."
I said I'd chalk it up to a "learning experience and Inday said "I'm sorry for this oversight! Let me know the next time you order and I'll knock 10% off the price for you."
Of course, why in the world would I order from him again?
Now, setting aside the customer service nightmare, and the fact that he should have just said the shirt had a much smaller collar than the shirt it was based on when Matt S pointed that out, there's the matter of the shirt itself. Was it worth the $85 I paid for it? Oh god, no. The sewing is fairly well done, but the tiny soft collar makes it look cheap.
I had debated posting this here (I suspect that others have had problems with Magnoli too based on some comments here) but was worried that I would get slammed. Yes, it's great that someone is attempting to make replica items for us to enjoy. But if his company is run for profit and we buy the goods then we have the right to expect good service and quality products. What's sad is that my replica Moroccan suede jacket from Leather Areena was so fast, such good quality, and exactly as I ordered it - and that's from some no-name ebay supplier!
I worried that people would jump down my throat and automatically defend Magnoli because he chooses to sell replicas of clothes from their favourite hero's films. But now that I think about this, I really wish there had been a review like this for me to read before I placed my order.
Slam me if you must, say that I'm "insulting a friend", but would you rather that I didn't tell people about my experiences? (My Granborough tie didn't last very long either, only with regular wear).
Like everywhere I guess, there will be great, good, average and disaster stories

Yes it's nice for collectors that he attempts to cover the entire board of movie replicas from ties to suits to leather jackets to glasses to cufflinks to bags to journals. But to me it's just 'Jack of all trades, master of none' and really feels like it's exploiting our obsession of collection.
Just take my horrible overall experience(s) as a warning. You are not going to get something of the quality you pay for. For those who like his cheaper products and are happy with them, thats great, but it absolutely galls me that his products/service 'as a whole' is revered and held up so high when it really, truly, is not.
As our company grows, it's harder and harder for me to personally be involved with every order, but I do what I can to ensure our quality and customer service remains top notch. So any concerns can certainly be directed to our customer service e-mail, but if you want to personally contact me, you can e-mail me at indy_magnoli@yahoo.com.
Thanks again for all your support and I hope we can continue to offer you all quality products and service for years to come.
