Gunbarrel + PTS music + title song

David Arnold has said, and I'm paraphrasing, that seeing the first reel of YOLT was a gigantic influence on him: in those few minutes, the audience got the James Bond Theme, "Capsule In Space", and the title song. All great stuff, of course.
What, in your opinion, is the best combination of gunbarrel, PTS music, and main title song?
I'd say OHMSS ranks pretty high, but there are plenty other contenders!

I give honourable mention to DAF for a very strong gunbarrel and main title song and to TLD for a very strong gunbarrel and PTS music, whilst neither being weak in the other departments. After those: FRWL, GF and TB. As much as I love Barry's Moore gunbarrels, the PTS music and main title songs just aren't as special.
1. OHMSS
2. AVTAK
3. TB
4. GE
5. TLD
Just great gunbarrels and music across the board.
"You forgot the first rule of Mass Media Elliot! Give the people what they want!!!"
"I never miss..."
"Time to face gravity!"
And you're damn lucky QoS doesn't have a gunbarrel or else that would be it ! :v
TSWLM has a terribly weak gunbarrel. The rest of it I agree with.
Or a decent title tune!
Correct ! It's bloody awesome :007)
Goldfinger - short, sharp PTS that has an excellent jazzy influence, but purely iconic sound. Smashes into Bassy's Goldfinger - hard to beat.
Thunderball - great GB, excellent roaring Cheteau Fight music full of the Bond theme. Heads into the excellent Thunderball by Jones so well.
You Only Live Twice - Capsule in Space is an incredible piece of music, IMO this even beats the GB and TS. So good.
Diamonds are Forever - it helps that the title song is so good, but the manhunt music is comical and cool, it's a brief PTS too.
The Spy Who Loved Me - heavily influenced by what's on screen, but like DAF, the title song lifts this one. The PTS of TSWLM is a work of pure brilliance.
The Living Daylights - none of the three elements are particularly out of this world, but they come together perfectly.
Goldeneye - the gunbarrel rules, the Goldeneye overture is brilliant and the title song (superficially) kicks the film of so well.
The World Is Not Enough - my favourite gunbarrel, and while this PTS is long, Come in 007 is a great piece of music followed by the excellent Garbage title song (matched by excellent titles too).
Die Another Day - apart from the bullet sound effect, the gunbarrel music is huge, the soundtrack that follows is excellent with the drum work and Madonna's song still sounds cool.
"Better make that two."
I was happily agreeing with you right till the end...
I really like the gunbarrel music.
'Stalking' is a great piece of tension-building, suspenseful music in the PTS.
I love the instrumental main title, starting with the fast high impact intro, then the jazzy rendition of FRWL with the organ, and then moving into an excellent arrangement of the James Bond theme.
All three elements are winners for me. It might not be my favourite overall (that might be Goldfinger, or You Only Live Twice) but since it hadn't been mentioned yet, I thought I'd give it a shout.
All it's missing is a gunbarrel....
I must mention Goldeneye because I do like the Goldeneye Overture a lot, plus the Tina Turner song with the Cold War visuals. Updated Gunbarrel is welcomed as well
-Casino Royale, Ian Fleming
Hah! I had to throw a cat amongst the pigeons!
"Better make that two."
Tomorrow Never Dies would be top if Surrender was the theme.
For Your Eyes Only is pretty good as well.
OHMSS: a close second.
YOLT: completes the top 3. Probably my favourite title song. Magical.
