NY in NY

OK a year ago before all the world dramas of 2016 erupted and the £ dropped like a stone to $, wife and I decided we would book a trip to New York for New Year 2016. Would be nice to see in the New Year somewhere different we thought. Unfortunately the kids found out and its now a family trip to NY and both Doris senior and Doris minor are revving up to shop until they drop. Son will be plugged into his iPhone for the duration of the trip letting out the occasional grunt from either end and only needing feeding 3 times a day. So that leaves me and what I can squeeze in around the numerous shopping sorties (probably on routes out or back).

So far in terms of Bond related ideas I thought:

Visit Tom Ford store
Visit Omega store
Drop into Billy Reed
Meet DC for a beer in town (maybe) :D

We are doing the usual rounds of catching a show, Empire State, Liberty Island etc but is there any other Bond related locations or Stores worth a visit?

Also can anyone local suggest a good viewing spot for Fireworks New Years Eve (Times Square seems a bit mad filling up 8 hours prior mainly with foreigners)?

Staying in the Chelsea area so any restaurant suggestions most welcome!

Cheers :007)

2nd Ave and E 94th St is completely different. I work a few blocks from there.

Yeah there is a new building on the site of the Fillet of Soul now but the surrounding streets are still recognisable.

The Voodoo Shop location is really close to the Tom Ford shop, so at least that's convenient.

If you are looking for nice Jack Purcell OTR alternatives, I recommend Frye boots. They are absolutely fantastic.

    Image is from Iconic alternatives.
The quality is much better than the JP OTR.
I owe both of them :)

There are dozens of hotels alone that are associated with the LALD shoot, Fleming's work and life, the Broccolis, the stars, etc. Bond killed someone towards his license in New York, rode through the Park, fought in Harlem . . . we did three tours of locations in NYC at my event years ago.

I will be in the City for a day or two over New Year's if anyone wants to BOND.

If in New York I would definitely visit Mango, as they seem to have some very awesome Bond\Craig alternatives.
