What's the name of that spread you put on crackers over there? I guess it's similar to our peanut butter?

My oldest son loves to try different foods so I thought I would order him some but I couldn't remember the name.

    Absolutely. Great on sea salt and black pepper Jacobs thin crackers.

    Try it. I love it on that. Salmon caviar is an absolute winner on them. Thin spread of butter, dollop of caviar, heaven.

    Never liked it on melba toast. Seemed to destroy the flavour for me.

    I like salmon caviar. We usually have some on Christmas morning, after smoked salmon and scrambled eggs, I must confess though that I've never even thought about caviar on a cracker. Usually just lightly toast thin slices of bread. But your way shall be sampled over Christmas -{

    I think we call it peanut butter - it's not dissimilar to what you refer to as peanut butter. :D

    Seriously though, caviar on crackers as Asp says is quality, it's also great in a hollowed-out hard-boiled egg, which offsets the saltiness of the caviar perfectly.

    Marmite - you either love it or you hate it. I am firmly in the hate camp though. :D

    In Australia, Vegemite is very popular. May have something to do with the fact it is basically left over brewers yeast. Hence, Australians do love their beer.

    Vegemite is very salty and I think it would be an acquired taste.

    Best enjoyed on toast with a touch of butter, coffee (very black), green figs and yoghurt after a heavy night out. ;) That's really the only time to eat it but personally I like it.

    I think I only tasted Marmite in crisps once and I wasn't really a fan. :D

    It was originally to have been The Boston brie Party, but several activists didn't like it, so they
    Boarded a Tea ship instead ! ( This may or may not be a true fact ) :D
