DVD question

In my search to have all of the James Bond movies on ONE format, half are DVD, spread from a few different sets, and the other half are VHS of which I can't use anymore as the VHS side of my DVD/VCR combo stopped working.
I came across the one I am about to post and had some questions about it. Namely when did it come out, as well as did the rest get a similar treatment? I ask because I would like to have as many of the older Bond films in done in the same way, if not this one then others.
I absolutely adore this case for this copy of Octopussy, I have seen Live and Let Die like this in my search too, but my search for the others are coming up short. I want to start filling in the Roger Moore movies first and my recent increase of interest for this one, I'm thinking about starting with this one. But would like to know if the others have a similar release. In one way or another, I want uniform.
What about this one? I've seen several like this, with a screen grab from the movie on the cover.

The movies I have on DVD, five of them come from the 2006 release The Ultimate James Bond Collection and include Goldfinger, Diamonds Are Forever, The Man with the Golden Gun, The Living Daylights and The World is Not Enough. The others are A View to a Kill, Licence to Kill, GoldenEye, Tomorrow Never Dies and Die Another Day and are from the 2002 collection.
I'm looking for a comparison with the 2 disc Octopussy I posted with these. Like content-wise or quality of the picture etc.

Also, just as long as stores like Goodwill sell them and people sell them at garage sales, VHS will likely never 100% die, I feel the same way with dvd. There is no point whe so many still haven't or don't want to replace their collection for a 3rd time.
When some, like James Bond, what can they possibly offer on Blu-ray, that the DVDs don't?
I was simply wanting some information on the copy of Octopussy I posted. I'm watching one on eBay and wanted to know if this was worth it and if the others were released the same way?

Correct these editions are from 2008 and all the classics up to and until DAD are available in this format.
Sweet! What were the extras? I've noticed that these share the same name as the 2006 sets that came out. Four box sets with five movies each. Two of them came out when Casino Royale hit theaters and the other two were out when it came to DVD. The five I listed above (Gf, DaF, GG, LD and TWINE) were the first of this set.
So my question is, are the extras the same in these individual 2-disc format as the 2006 set?

I would recommend going on eBay and getting either the x4 pack of the Ultimate Edition DVDs or the x3 pack of the Special Edition DVDs. They each have their pros and cons, but both are better than what you have now. (You'd have to get the Craig Bonds separately)
Personally, I own all on VHS, SE DVD, UE DVD and a handful on blu-ray.
If you are considering a blu-ray player and HD TV I would recommend getting the complete blu-ray set. (Something I wish I had done in the first place, but now I don't want to since I already have like 12 on Blu)

1. Special Edition - single disc. Around 2001-2003.
Some special features, mostly made up of the Cork/Scivally documentaries, single audio commentary.
Also came out on VHS - but did not include booklet or DVD type features (commentary, subtitles). Featured bright colour artwork that differed across all DVDs.
2. Ultimate Edition - double disc. Following DAD, 2004+
Dual or triple commentaries include Roger Moore's ones.
More special features, booklet - had DTS encoding and Lowry restoration. Featured darker colour box artwork, walking girl on the tiles in the menu and titles like "Ministry of propaganda" "Mission control" etc.
The box set either came in a briefcase or a brushed aluminium looking cardboard box.
BluRay mostly takes the template from the UE, including menu designs, but adds more special feature content (within the same category breakdown) and more language options for both subtitles and soundtrack.

Yes, the only benefit to the BluRay box-set for me was the quality of the picture - which I am pretty sure had further restoration efforts (prep for 4k) that did not exist for the DVD?? Even though Lowry were involved for the UE set...

Where does that suit case come from for the UE? The only complete set I've seen of that one is the one that has the four sets in a larger box and included the normal retail release of Casino Royale. Same question for the SE with that box.
Hopefully the rest will get the Steel book treatment when the next film comes out.

Suit case was available alongside the four sets within the cardboard box set. It was quite a bit more expensive. I didn't buy it because as a 16 year old spending $300 on 20 DVDs nearly killed me! My one did not include CR.
I never saw the entire box set of the SE, but did see the separate sets.
I bought the DN-SF Blu-Ray box set, which is just a collection of discs sitting in a big single plastic case.

I have the Man with the Golden Gun in the Ultimate Edition set, slim case. I used to own it from the blue box of the Special Edition. I know there used to be translation subtitles for the foreign languages that Hai Fat and the nieces speak on this one, but not in the UE version. Why is this? I can distinctly remember one the girls shouting that Bond wasn't in the car when escaping the martial art school and it being translated on screen.

I've noticed this too. To get some of the translations you have to actually have the subtitles on. Same occurs in TLD with the pipeline lady.

I've done that with the UE edition of The Man with the Golden Gun and they still don't show up, but I don't turn them on from the movie menu, just the button on the remote, if that matters.
