I have to ask about the circle situated in Bond's head.
This seems to merge an idea of the sun, or moon, over the featured landscapes with - possibly - a suggestion of the Bond films' microdot/ gunbarrel motif. It could also be a memento mori, suggesting that Craig's Bond is ultimately a dead man - shot in the head? - or it could suggest that Craig's Bond has a 'hollow' eye: he's a man desensitised by serial loss and violence.
Your use of silhouettes links the work, too, to the aesthetics of Bond main titles sequences - especially the CR06 titles sequence which suggested an idea that Craig's Bond is a 'silhouette' of a man.

I remember Daniel Craig making a video for the contest. I really thought they were going to use either the winning poster or get the artist to do something.

I guess they never used the illustrated poster contest for their main campaign. Perhaps with covid they either forgot or hoped people would forget.
I was right though in my thinking back then that they should have given the winner some element of the film's tone to work with.
