Poll: Who would you screentest for Bond? (multiple answers)

Number24Number24 NorwayPosts: 22,334MI6 Agent
While the names listed are the same, this poll differs from my first poll. If you were the casting director for Bond24, who would you make sure to screentest? So we're not asking for your absolute favourite this time, but the actors you think are promising candidates for the role.

I voted for a few. Curious to see Hiddleston. Still not sold. Hardy I think is to "Hard" looking if that makes sense. Although I love him as an actor. Fassbender certainly would be a good fit.

I canr say NO enough for Cavill. No No.

Jamie Bell of Billy Elliot fame, maybe. He's currently filming a movie about the SAS successful rescue of hostages from the Iranian Embassy in 1980. He plays "Rusty" who was the first SAS soldier to enter the embassy that day. He does look good with a Browning 9mm pistol in his hand.

Apparently they received instructions and training by former SAS soldiers on weapon handling, and room clearing drills.

What fun that must have been.

Tom Hardy I went for. Hope it's not going to be Hiddleston, not a fan myself personally.

Not on the list but IMO ideal candidate is Tom Cullen, over 6ft dark hair and pretty good actor, is playing guy Fawkes in upcoming bbc drama Gunpowder and is starring in knight fall about the Knights Templar and of course Downton Abby. Only 32 so ideal to take over in 5 years time for 3 good stand alone missions Risico, property of a lady and the Hildebrand Rarity. Bond 25 can have Bond married or not, full of angst and woe is me or comedy, tie up all the past 4 films(again) call garden of death or Shatterhand, have it as remake of ohms or Moonraker and then when that's all done celebrate 60th anniversary with 007 number 7( marketing potential could be great) and back to making 3 traditional 007 films with Fleming titles!!!

    Update:
    So far 249 have voted.
Tom Hiddleston has 222 votes, Michael Fassbender has 115 votes. Everyone else has very few votes.

Cavill would have been a natural successor but he is Superman now.

I think Aiden Turner would be perfect. He's excellent in And Then There Were None, I could really see him as 007.

He's my top choice. He's also very Bond-like in Poldark as well in his demeanour. He's got qualities of early Connery, Dalton and Brosnan.

I find it interesting that people first complained about Craig being blonde but then they vote for another blonde Bond (Tom Hiddleston).

Watch "Son of a Gun" he looks more rugged there and can do action.

well if its true they were paying Hiddleston to be Bond-in-waiting, they surely had him do an audition
it'd be silly to pay somebody for years and then only ask him to read a few lines at the last possible minute when they had no other choice
(almost as silly as writing the script after they'd started filming)
Jamie Bell of Billy Elliot fame, maybe.
I have no serious opinion about his acting abilities, but he did play Tintin, which I allege is relevant experience

Turner is my top choice too. He has these wolfish eyes like Dalton had, but he looks better overall.

Tom Cullen is a good choice too, from what I have seen from pictures only.

I also liked Matthew Goode a while, but he might be too old by the time a new Bond is chosen. Is now 39.

After the muscular, rough Craig, I would like to go back to the stylish, sophisticated James Bond again. So not necessarily a muscle man, but more on charm, intelligence and sophistication. Hence these 3 as my top choices.

I'd like to retain the tough edge, but tempered with a veneer of sophistication. Guess I'm hoping for a contemporary Connery type if that's possible . Certainly less of a muscle Mary than we have now. ;)

Goode is too old and last year he ruled himself out of the running.
