I really enjoy listening to them as audiobooks. Simon Vance does a great job reading the continuation novels.
I'm listening to Simon Vance with all the Fleming novels in the first place! (Going through FRWL again atm) So that should make for a nice continuation when I'm done with those!
Mark Strong would be a great Blofeld. Especially if they keep the brother element in play.
Another pick that comes to mind is Aidan Gillen of Game of Thrones and The Wire fame. He's got the whole menacing, conniving villain thing pretty well down.
Years ago, American character actor Bob Gunton basically became Blofeld for a Sylvester Stallone movie. I always thought he'd be great.
In terms of other actors, I saw someone a week or so ago that I though would be great, but I can't remember who. I'll post when I do.
Ha, I love that movie, saw it in the theater as a kid. He would make a good Blofeld but the way things are going they'll probably do a CGI Donald Pleasence.
I hope they don't bring Blofeld back as I think he's one of the least memorable of Bond's Villain's beyond the original Connery incarnation. Spectre showed that Blofeld had left little impact on viewers as a villain so its best to leave him in the past and come up with something more original, and stop constantly retreading old ground.

This. I thought they should wait for a new Bond to introduce Blofeld and do a proper buildup over a couple of films. They blew that chance, so let's see something new.
The geopolitical climate is very volatile right now. There's got to be something more compelling than "sinister organization with people everywhere plotting world domination."

I think Blofeld's problem in Spectre is how poorly he's written. There's supposed to be significance to when he reveals his new name, but the name doesn't have meaning within Craig's universe. For the reveal to have meaning it needed to be established prior to Waltz's reveal.

Star Trek: Into Darkness had the exact same problem when they brought Khan back. Wouldn't be surprised if that's where EON got the idea.

Definitely! It's lazy writing where they think they can let the name do all the work.
Whoever they cast it needs to be somebody willing to come back several times, none of this "completely different actor and personality every film" stuff.
Though he shouldn't wear out his welcome, 2 or 3 films tops.
Thank you for taking the time to read this sig. This sig loves you.

Do you expect me to talk? No I expect you announce the wrong movie...
Roger Moore 1927-2017
That would explain everything!!! )
He would make a terrific Red Grant.
Just had a rewatch of FRWL yesterday and it's almost distracting how much Grant and DC look alike, especially their signature scowls

Precisely! )
1 - Moore, 2 - Dalton, 3 - Craig, 4 - Connery, 5 - Brosnan, 6 - Lazenby
He has been mooted in the past I think. Yes he could be great. He can be really menacing with that Angelic face and thousand yard stare.
Great choice! I've also always though Karl Markovics would play a great weasley Blofeld...
