Looks very similar, but with silver zips
It was either that.....or the priesthood

Does look remarkably similar. It's $100 over what the original cost at full retail.

The color of this is called Midnight while the original color was called Marine. Can't tell from the photos if there is any difference.

    Nice find. -{

If only JV would rerelease their Martian JV Split seam jacket in brown and make a variation in natural.

could be possible, but only can be confirmed if someone may got his hands on it (maybe someone got a store nearby?)

i think it is a bloom effect from the studio lighting.

if you take some pictures from the first run like this
    john-varvatos-blue-suede-racer-jacket-product-1-27823585-0-355773808-normal.jpeg
    it's also very silvery/shiny.

but take a closer look at the areas in the shadows like here in the top area. Looks dark for me, but photos on the internet...very debateable :))

Yes, also very very close/the same, but only can be confirmed if someone see one in person.

If they did a re-run (which sold out very quickly) i would not be surprised if they do another one.
I hope so, cause it got the baseballglove cross stitching in all specific areas like the shoulders, the back and over the pockets.
(use the zoom button on the JV site, since i dont know how to extract the big pictures from it ;% )

during few months i have been talking with john varvatos on facebook asking for a new re-re-release of the jacket.
i sent pictures of the model saying that was used by daniel craig on the movie james bond spectre.
i said that many people is paying a lot of model for this jacket and many others are selling a copies of this model.
they told me many times that my questions will be hear on the team.
now, we can see that this is the exactly model as 1 year ago was released. same cuts, same model.
zips its not a problem if they are silver.
original colour was Marine but midnight is navy blue too. but maybe has a little differences.

the price is expensive... yes. but the other day on ebay.com one guy paid for a used jacket 700usd. if this game now see this web, he will loose his hair.
but as other people say, we need real pictures to confirm if this jacket is near 100% as original release.

at the moment people see that.. this jacket in lesss than 3 weeks will be out of stock.

    sorry but i nee say..
people should say me thank you because if this jacket is again out is for me.

I have a couple of JV pieces, including an original run SP jacket and all their zips are dark grey coloured rather than shiny bare silver metal, so that picture variance is just lighting.

The colour is a different matter though. Original run / 1st re-run jackets are a vibrant colour blue in person, all be it dark, where as that jacket appears to be a very dark matt blue in keeping with the 'Midnight' definition on the website.

Otherwise that is the same SP jacket and the collar is a match. If I didn't have an original I would jump on one of these. JV jacket prices only seem to be climbing both on the retail and secondary market.

who has any john varvatos in the city?
i hope someone takes some pictures to appreciate this version.

The biggest difference is the horizontal seam across the front joining two panels together above the pockets, the original was just one piece. I can't tell if the collar is different, it looks it on the photo, but comparing the two I can't quite decide.
Also the original has a seam on the sleeves just below the elbow, the new one doesn't appear to have this. So it's not the same jacket but it's pretty damn close.

in the official website when you made zoom you can appreciate a seam on the sleeves just below the elbow.

i have been watching details of the first model and this one and are the same.
the only problem is to see the real colour and see how is inside the jacket.

OK I can see the seam on the sleeves, but the new version still has the additional seams across the front.

Still it's the same model jacket by the right brand just with an extra detail or two.

See the original SA jackets and any of the images of DC wearing it (google images / http://www.jamesbondlifestyle.com/product/john-varvatos-suede-racer-jacket ) they all have that seam. Its only that old JV file picture that it doesn't show up on and if I remember right it caused a lot of discussion on this forum back when it was first identified as to whether is was an SA match, before people started getting them in hand and realising they were.

Just looking at JBL and the £495 original price tag for the SA jackets. A £300 jump in price is pretty steep stuff for these now :#

And here's ajb's very own DZ wearing the JV suede racer with seam...

Its basically the top seam of the slash pockets.

Fair enough, I've only been comparing the images on this thread, I wasn't aware of the original discussion about the Spectre used jacket.

the jacket is exaclty 100% as the first release with same details.
i have been talking again with john varvatos and he told me that nex weak he will talk with the team to confirm if they hear me about release for third time this model.

the only problem and makes a bit confuse is the colour.
marine and midnight usually are the same colour for some brands. but we need to know if there are some differences in this model or not.

The original style number of the SA jacket was L855R1L-Y668. This one's is L855T1L-Y668. Not sure what the difference of the R from the T, maybe just the color name? By my eye, it looks like the SA jacket to me.

"A slick take on a revered silhouette" is what the description says in the beginning...

    So it's quite nice that they actually listen and understand the jacket's reputation thanks to Spectre, and are bringing it back, price and all..... -{ -{ :) -{ -{
    Yes. Consssssiderably.

This is awesome! Hopefully it's not the Menlo all over again and they keep this run identical to the original. I think their original description of the first re-release said something about the jacket being perfect for a "spy", or something along those lines. Now they are saying, as armenianmovieman pointed out, "revered silhouette"; it's the "slick take" part that worries me :)). Even if there are differences, I would buy this because it's the same Brand/quality and hits all the important feature notes. However, im going to have to settle for gambling with this thing going on sale later this year. Great find PPK!

i don´t know exactly sizes but the web says the all star varvatos uses US size.
daniel craig used in the movie size medium and was very fitted.
i know a guy (185cm) much more taller than daniel craig (175cm) and uses size SMALL and its not fitted as daniel in the movie.

It certainly looks like the original. I see no differences to mine.

i recived an answer from john varvatos about the jacket of the website.

    they said:
It is almost identical. The shade of Navy on the link that you sent is slightly different. Still, very tough to tell the difference and it is the same model and the same skin.

Hi guys just to let you know I have now received the new JV suede racer jacket .
I am having a little trouble uploading the pictures on this site so I've sent them to jared nomak to upload on here.
You will see that my original JV jacket has been well worn the new one is slightly darker in colour which is no bad thing if you really want to wear it quite a lot ,
The herringbone stitching on the new jacket appears to be a slightly thinner gauge stitching than on the original jacket.
But that aside all of the stitching on the seams and round the pockets is identical to the original jacket including the inner lining , there is a slight difference on the inside behind the zip on the new jacket it has a suede panel on the original jacket it was a kind of nylon fabric.
Also the suede used on the new jacket feels slightly thicker to touch than on the original jacket but this might be due to the fact that I have worn my original jacket quite a lot .
So is it worth the price tag well in my opinion yes if you do not have one or cannot get hold of one of the original jackets or if you're like me you have an original jacket and you have worn it quite a lot then yes it's best to have a back up and for those of you that didn't buy one originally then yes I would definitely buy one now .

P.S in the pictures of the jackets The original one appears to look slightly Grey in colour this is just a trick of the light and the fact that if you brush suede in a different Direction it will look slightly lighter or darker.
