Yes, for the FRWL publicity photo session the PPK had been left behind at Pinewood and rather than hold everything up while someone retrieved it, the photographer -- who had been practicing at a local range -- volunteered the LP-53 he had in his car.
Supposedly the intention was that it be painted out but stills with the LP were published anyway and thus the iconic look born.
It's difficult to find one with the proper combination of elements as pipobudiono has: matte finish, black grips, etc.
