Separately I got my Patterson back from being dyed black and it is fantastic. It has a life time warranty on the dye as well which is pretty cool. I am himming and hawing about changing the lining out with the correct blue plaid lining, we shall see.

To be quite frank, I wouldn't be surprised if Belstaff intended to use his name but misspelled it. Belstaff (old Belstaff) is one of my favorite brands, but they are notorious for NOT paying attention to detail.
One time I bought a brand new Dark Leather Blouson (the jacket in the Dark Knight) and I noticed there was a belstaff leaflet inside the inner pocket that had a description of the movie. Everything seemed fine, until the mention of Heath Ledger. They called him "Heather Ledger". (they must have been using google translate) it made me laugh. And yes, it was authentic, not a knock off.
Also one time I inquired about the suede Ethan blouson when it was for sale on their official website. I even ended my e-mail with sincerely...(my name) And this was the opening line to the e-mail I was given in response..."Dear Ethan! Thank you for your message and interest in this wonderful jacket." )
All in all, yeah, if I loved the Patterson, I think I could get over the name. Touché

I can't believe all this dyeing that's taking place Belstaff jackets have such a beautiful antique finish,
it's what makes them a classic and unique and sets them apart. Makes me sick to my stomach to think about.

The leather is still the same quality, workmanship, design, heritage and quality is what you get with belstaff.....well mostly, if re-dying is done well I can't see the problem. nafets is also no idiot so if he's happy I'd guess the dying went well.
If you redye those Belstaff's you will lose the antique wash that their treatment initially has. Not the end of the world but a shame to lose. Over the years you'll need to tread them anyway, I've done it on a couple of mine and that takes most of the wash away also.
Italian dyeing and tanning of leather is top notch, it's not something that can be duplicated by simply applying a dye and rubbing it into the leather. If a jacket is redyed, sometimes that leather has a squeaky, unnatural feel to it.
If the original color is brown, over the years, instead of an antique black look like Craig's jacket has, it will most likely start showing brown spots and wear areas. Not saying that the people who are dyeing their jackets won't be pleased with the outcome. But a simple redye job won't give the Patterson the antique black look that Craig's jacket has. I'm not calling anyone an idiot, just warning against the idea for the reasons I listed.
They are so hard to find now which is unfortunate...I got lucky finding a small on EBay... I am working with Indy Magnoli to do a test run... let's see how those come out, if they come out nice maybe it's something the forum will have interest in...
I ended up buying two Matchless Inverness jackets in Antique Black, one in a Medium and one in a Large.
The Medium fit much better so if anyone is after a Patterson this is a thicker and longer jacket. However has the same design baring the cuffs.
I personally prefer this over the Belstaff. The following are the measurements for the Large:
Chest approx: 56 cm
Shoulder: 49cm
Arm length 67cm
Jacket length approx. 74 cm
I have it listed on eBay since it is not a Bond item or Craig (Craig wears a Belstaff). I will sell it for less to a member so let me know if you are interested.
The Inverness has different cuffs I believe, it doesn't have the buckles. That said, the buckles are infinitely annoying and I've removed them on one of my Pattersons, the Inverness has better cuffs.

Nice Patterson you have there Mantis. But just so you know, the acid brown that you have is winter weight, the black, blackbrown, antique cuero and burnt brown are all summer weight. Does make a difference even though the design is theoretically exactly the same.

It was me that picked this one up. Great fit, great summer weight for Texas in the fall. These are nicely designed pieces. Makes me realize I've been wearing Belstaff since I was 16 when they were exclusively bike gear. 35 years. Freaky.
